But seriously , who have the Bruins beaten so far ? UVA is ranked 72nd and Hundley was harassed all game and was sacked 5 times. The next game at home the Bruins had all they could handle in the 102nd ranked Memphis Tigers. If the Bruins can't put away the lower echelon teams in a dominating fashion, a team like the Longhorns at home has a great opportunity to knock the Bruins off.

Even though UCLA has looked pretty mediocre thus far, they have the talent to be very good. If the same Texas team that came out vs BYU shows up for UCLA, it'll be more of the same for poor UT.

I bet its close early and UCLA pulls away in the 2nd half for a relatively easy 30-10 or so win.

Non-conference games are college's version of pre-season, to get ready for the real games.

Why else would powerhouse teams schedule patsies like The Citadel, Florida Atlantic, San Jose State, etc?

Yup the play calling committed the turn overs. He specifically said "don't hold on to the ball". Plus, the box score only shows 3 fumbles and 1 INT.

The offensive play calling also caused the defense to the standard long horn dive at the feet tackle attempt, lack of basic tackling skills, and quit exhibited by the defense.

I will agree that the play calling didn't help, but to put this all on the play calling is a stretching it.

How many DC has Texas gone through in the last couple of years? I couldn't see much difference between the effort last year and this year. Maybe its the players and not the coaches?

Everything is bigger in Texas, so 4 turnovers count as 6.

the players have to play. They've let down themselves, and a boatload of assistant coaches over the past 4-5 years.

As I mentioned elsewhere, it's going to take getting a number of them out (some were pushed out by CS already) through graduation, and some new players in.
