Lakers won't have a shot at Bates-Diop. He'll go 15-20.

I'd take Brunson or Aaron Holiday (if he is available, doubtful). Bruce Brown could be a decent pick there and I don't know about Afernee Simons because he's a lot more raw....but maybe take him if he's still there?
Yeah, I just looked at the updated drafts after the lottery...

One has Ketia at #22, one has him going to the Warriors #28 and another has him 37.

He will be in your range.

His agent wouldn't have let him work out for you this early if he wasn't.

Another name linked to you, Khyri Thomas.

...yes, Simmons is a project.

But, he could be worth it...imo

EVERY Laker fan should be upset that they gave up this pick. They can be happy that it wasn't worse but that is only a consolation.

Upset at the time when it blew up, this many years later, I'm over it. It was what it was and the last of the Short Buss era is finally behind them.

Now, it's about what Magic and Pelinka can do this off-season and/or next with all of that cap space.

In sports, you have to be able to sell winning or hope. The Lakers can finally sell hope. Now, they need to make the right moves so that they can start selling winning asap.

I completely agree. The past is the past and now the Lakers only have the Deng albatross around their neck courtesy of Buss.

Out of all them? I'd want Holiday the most.
He flamed out in the tourney.

But, he'd be a good pick.

Only problem would be playing time.

Hart should get most of those backup minutes...imo

I'm laughing my ass off at any team that picks Trae Young. That was a kid that should've went back to school a 2nd year.

Yeah, he faded in the 2nd half of the season and March Madness....not sold on him.

You know now that I think about it, Memphis is in a great spot.

They can take Bagley or Jackson to replace Green or take Porter to replace Parsons.

Healthy Conley and Gasol and they are in a good spot.

Dude, you know the Knicks, Magic will see him as a savior and the Cavs will think he's a selling point for LeBron.

That's his floor.

Totally disagree. Why go back to a school on a team with zero NBA talent outside of yourself when you're basically a lock to be selected in the lottery?

That would have been the stupidest move of his career.

He will look much better in the NBA since he will actually have some talent

I think it is entirely possible.

But it really boils down to whether they get Lebron or not. PG on his own gets you to be a 1st round exist playoff team at best.
George is so flaky, is he really a done deal?

I honestly think he's dumb enough to stay with the Thunder.

Remember: They are closer to riding themselves of Anthony's albatross of a contract * one year left* than the Lakers are to getting rid of Deng.

Both guys can get stretched.

No matter what rumors we hear about where a player is going, we won't really know until they actually sign somewhere.

Oh, I remember and you were correct.

He's a nice energy guy and would be a solid 5 off the bench.

He's young. Right now he's best as a backup.....but in 2-3 years I could see him being ready to start.....maybe.

What does he do well? I'm fully aware that he's considered a lottery prospect. But he does nothing well and many analysts were saying he should've went back to school.

I'm sorry. I'm just not sold on him. I've seen a ton of OU games this year on TV given that I'm in the DFW area. And I never came away impressed.

Going back to school when you play on a zero talent team like Oklahoma is stupid. This isn't Duke or Kentucky. Would have went back to school and got drafted in the 2nd round next year.

You don't pass on a being a lottery pick to go back to school. You just don't do it. Whatever help you need to your game can happen in the league.

Young would have been a top 5 pick if he actually played with other talented players. Hard to look good when you basically have to play 1 on 5 on offense because your teammates are trash
