Lottery is this Tuesday at 8pmEST on ESPN. Predict who wins and you'll get a cake reward!

Odds for #1: Philly (25%), LA (19.9%), Celtics via LOLNETS (15.6%), Suns (11.9%), Wolves (8.8%), Pels (6.3%), Nuggets via Knicks (4.3%), Kings (1.9%), Raptors via Nuggets (1.9%), Bucks (1.8%), Magic (0.8%), Jazz (0.7%), Suns via Wizards (0.6%), Bulls (0.5%)

I'm gonna go with the Doomsday Scenario; Boston wins the lottery and LA comes in at #4 thus losing its pick.

Actually that is just what I was thinking ... so me too. Boston deserves a break ... going back to when they lost out on Tim Duncan.

It would be crazy if Wolves or Raptors got the #1.

Suns will drop a spot and pick 5th. Lakers will win it because it's rigged.

I 100% guarantee this prediction.

I 100% guarantee this prediction.

The funny thing about this is that if the Lakers do win the lottery, that will be the narrative that many people will run with.

Even though they have the 2nd best chance of winning it. :L

At first, I thought some of you guys were being all " Expect the worst, hope for the best " about the pick.

And, I'm sure you are to a certain extent. But, History seems to suggest that Philly will get it.

I'm actually kind of shocked by these stats because I never paid attention.

I still don't think you lose it though...

How unlikely was the Knicks fall from second to fourth last year? As it turns out, if history was any indication, it was not surprising at all. In the past 20 years, the team with the second-worst record was awarded the first pick in the lottery only once, in 1996 when the Philadelphia 76ers moved up and selected Allen Iverson. Teams in the Lakers position retained the second choice only twice, the Knicks in 2006 and the Bulls in 2002. On five occasions, the team with the second-worst record fell to the number three position in the draft.

That means, in the last 20 years, the team that finished with the second-worst record fell out of the top three on 12 occasions or 60% of the time. Thus, history portends that the Lakers may be in trouble.

If we lose it, that means the 2017 pick is guaranteed, so there's some consolation. Won't stop me from being a nervous wreck however...

2017's draft looks 10x stronger than this one too, so it may not be the worst thing in the world.

A top 2 pick in this draft is solid, but if you had the option to pick 3rd or get a guaranteed pick in a loaded 2017 draft that would be tough even without knowing where that pick would wind up.

I really hope the Warriors take a long look at Caris Levert with whatever pick they end up getting at the end of round 1. He's coming off an injury, but the Warriors would be in a position to not have to play him right away (like they did with Looney this year). At 6'7, with the way he could shoot the ball, handle and defend multiple positions, he has future Warrior written all over him.

The kings will win it.

This way the NBA can claim anyone can win while the kings don't get to reap the fruits.

I'm not sure the Kings can win it. Philly has swap rights on their pick and I don't think its top 3 protected. So if the Kings win it, Philly can just swap it.
