Just looked it up (couldn't edit in time), the Kings can NOT win the lottery. Philly has swap rights on the pick if its in the Top 10 (it will be). Therefore, if the Kings "win", Philly is definitely swapping. LOLKINGS

Also, FWIW, the Raptors can't win either. Denver has swap rights.

I'm not sure the Kings can win it. Philly has swap rights on their pick and I don't think its top 3 protected. So if the Kings win it, Philly can just swap it.

Exactly.

The league can give them the first pick without actually sending a marquee player to that dumpster fire of a franchise.

BIG BIG NIGHT for Lakers fans...

56% chance to keep the pick....44% they lose it....

they are due for some good fortune smiling upon them after the last few years.

Yeah, I think Lakers fans and the organization itself are approaching it as if they don't keep the pick. It's the smart way to go. If they don't keep it, it'll hurt, but I don't think it'll be cataclysmic like some in the media are trying to say it will be.

Obviously, they want to keep the pick, but at least they seem to have plans in place to try to be able to act quickly if they don't get to keep it.

For the Lakers. Unless they get like a Derozan/Whiteside combo this summer, they might be better off losing the pick this year than getting 3.

Next year could be stronger.

Yeah, depending on how FA goes, the Lakers are probably looking at a later pick than #3 next year, but it's also supposed to be a much deeper draft.

The media are trying to act like it will be cataclysmic if the Lakers don't keep the pick this year. I just don't see it that way. Obviously, they'd like to keep the pick, but not keeping it isn't going to set them back a decade like some have tried to say.

Outside of simmons, this draft might be the worst since 2000 IMO (Kenyon Martin draft).

I do like some of the potential role players through in the mid to back end of this draft.

Blossomgame, Valentine, Baldwin, Onuaku etc.

Some VERY interesting names in the back end of the first. But 3-8 is only ok. And 8-15 is kind of no man's land right now.

I think Ingram is pretty good too. Most say that he is more NBA ready than Simmons, but that Simmons has the bigger upside.

But yeah, outside of those 2, there really aren't any players that you look at and say "You could build a team around that guy."

Ingram is fine. His shooting is really good already. That's his big thing.

And even the 2000 draft had K-Mart.

I will never trust the NBA and their fake lottery process after the laughably unnecessary 2nd test for the 97 lottery.

What a crock that was.

Test it one. Run the real thing. Move on.

what is the worst the sixers could end up? kinda hoping they fall to 8th or something whatever the worst by the numbers they can fall too. they deserve it for the blatant tanking year after year. they have 3 1st round picks anyway don't they.

4th.

and they could end up with the 4th and 5th picks if the Lakers get a worst case scenario.
