What game plan accounts for being unable to run because our offensive line can't get a push on their front four, let alone getting to the second level and their speedy linebackers, we can't beat them outside because they are too fast, and we can't throw the ball because playing against athletic DBs like that requires accurate and timely throws that we can't get out of Armstrong (let alone Fyfe). And that's just the offense. On defense, we couldn't get pressure which required our DBs to cover for sometimes 7-10 seconds. When we brought plus pressure, our linebackers couldn't finish the play and JT got free. How do you gameplan around all of those deficiencies when you have far superior athletes on the other side? Of course Riley's not going to come out and say "yeah, our players just suck compared to their players." He's going to take responsibility cause that's his job. That doesn't make it true, though.

That is just an inaccurate and weak excuse for us to claim there was nothing we could have done given the athletes we have when other teams far less talented than Nebraska held up just fine against OSU this season.

Yea we're banged up on the OL, I get that. Defensively nobody was on the same page all night. Let me just repeat this fact once more, OSU never punted. Not once. That is not due to inferior or superior athletes on either side.

What should we have done? And let's not act like the OSU team that played this weekend is the same that played against PSU, Northwestern, or even Wisconsin. This was the OSU team that boatraced OU. They are young, so ups and downs are expected. Had they been down, we could have hung in there like Wisconsin, Northwestern, etc. They were up and there was not much we could do about it.

I just wanted to post this on your board. I would put it on the main board, but it appears the boys are arguing back and forth on the game thread about a future game that takes place 3 weeks from now. I thought this was a classy move on behalf of the Buckeyes. Also, on 11W yesterday, they posted a video clip of Buckeye Nation chanting "Tommy." I hope he is doing better. That was a frightening sight to see. Anyway, good luck to the Huskers football team and to the Huskers fan base. You guys are a classy group and a solid fan base.:suds:

Gotta ask how is that not. i get it was the perfect storm but the staff looked lost players reverted back to their bo days and talent gap was serious . if your not gonna get top notch talent better be disciplined like Wisconsin

Wisconsin has been running the same playbook since Berry took it over. Nebraska has tried to be a head of the curve. You saw it with the firing of Frank. I think a Frank and Bo ran team would have got us wins. But we need top notch coaching. To bring in top notch talent.

I have never seen a more surgical performance as I did Saturday night. OSU will walk through Meatchicken, Washington, and Bama if they play like they did Saturday night.

Urban took over the playcalling duties after NW, also, we're a stupid young team, so you're bound to see ups and downs like OSU has displayed all season. That said, I don't think OSU is 59 points better than UNL, shit just snowballed after TA went down. Its like the wind completely went out of your teams' sails.

I just don't like excuses. There are never excuses for a 60 point loss. In order to lose by 60 points when you're a program like Nebraska, there have to be more issues than just talent.

Our staff has manned up and admitted that they didn't have the guys prepared.

I'm not one of those crazies yelling "fire this guy and fire that guy."

I just know that if we lined up again this week against that same team we wouldn't lose by 60 points. We'd be better prepared. I don't think anyone was prepared for them to steamroll us and once it started there was no stopping it.

We could beat that team. That is the honest truth. We lost by 60 points, and yet we still could beat that team. Because honestly, they're just not that great.

Much appreciated. I don't think we're 59 points worse either. I think this was probably as close to an Urban Meyer team as I've seen yet that we could actually play with. We just didn't compete. Guys were all over the place on Defense whereas all season we've looked pretty cohesive and almost machine like on that side of the ball.

When a team gets hot like that it's game over, even Bama got rolled by them just 2 years ago. The whole team went into shock after Tommy was carted off, I can understand that. When he's out we lose, everyone on the teams knows that as well as the coaches whether they admit it or not

Those three teams have WAY better coaching and in some positions, better athletes, so OSU would have their hands full against any of those teams. Nebraska made OSU look like world beaters. There's a 2.25% chance I'm wrong! lol

Way better coaching? :pound::pound::pound::pound: The only HC that's ahead of Meyer is Saban. Nice try though.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, that was one of the worst jobs of preparing a team that I have ever seen. Maybe we saw why Riley had all of those losing seasons at his previous stint? I actually expected a better prep job from Riley than that! Wow!

You dingbat, I'm not saying they have better coaching than Meyer's team, I said That Meyer was way better than Riley, but Mich., Wash., and Alabama have great coaching too. Don't forget about how good Chris Peterson is. He's a great coach who knows how to win.

I will say that I believe Meyer is the best coach in America.

That's a lot of conclusion from one single data point. If you listened to MR in the presser today he owned up to it, there's no big mystery about how and why, that's just me I guess

No you dingbat that's not what you said. Reread your own comment (#173) where you said..."Those three teams have WAY better coaching." Now if that's not what you really meant than don't say that.
