Wow what a surprise Dad thinks DH is a bad coach....totally shocked.

Every coach has made bad calls, I guess first asking for one second to be added to the clock to try a 57 yard FG with your back up kicker is a great coaching call....or maybe the fact your FG unit had no clue he could return the ball.

Saban is a good coach when he is surrounded by the best talent in the nation...lets see his first 4 years at Michigan St he only broke .500 once....but yeah he would have came in here with the same team we had and lead them to a title. SMH some people do live in a fantasy world.

:lame:And you are chief among them, DC, Holgorsen is in no way a head coach. And for you to try to build Holgorsen up by trying to tear down Saban is just ridiculous. Holgorsen took over a team that had won nine games a year for a long time, a team that had been to a bowl for 10 years running. MSU prior to Saban going there was on major probation from Perles grade fixing scandal, and had been a .500 team for several years prior. Record at MSU 1995 6-5-1, 1996 6-6, 1997 7-5, 1998 6-6, 1999 10-2, improvement each year, the MSU team truly was a bare cupboaed when he arrived, they cleaned house of anyone who was in the cheating scandal. From how I count, he broke .500 every one of the five years he was there. finishing with a winning record three of the five.

Missing a bowl is a huge disadvantage, period. A team misses 20 some practices by missing bowl season. Everything with recruiting can be done either way.

What's lame is calling out another poster's opinion as being lame.

DC has not attempted to tear down Saban. He is merely throwing your BS back in your face.

You cite the continued ST gaffes of Dana's team, and when DC presents a truly poor decision on Saban's part at the end of the AU game, you have to acknowledge it… or you look like a hypocrite.

There are no perfect coaches out there. Some of today's best coaches, had some less than impressive starts to their careers.

Dana took over a team that had won 9 games for 3 years in a row in a watered down conference. He faced more top 25 ranked teams over the course of this regular season, than his predecessor did over those 3 years combined.

Who played on offense at the skill positions this year, that had been recruited by Billy and his staff?

Lets see where did I say saban was a bad coach? He became a lot better when surrounded by top notch talent.

Even the best make mistakes, you say DH is no head coach cause of these short sighted errors you draw out week in and week out, yet a guy who has won multiple titles, has the best recruiting classes, has HT canidates, and 15 years more exp on the job can make even the biggest of boneheaded mistakes. I bet if you look back on Saban early in his career he made some of the same mistakes DH has made early in his....oh wait I forgot every other coach in the world not named Dana is great. Plus he did not win 10 games that last year, he resigned before the bowl game and never coached it. His most wins in his first four seasons was 7. He got to 9 his 5th season, lucky for him you are not a Michigan St fan. You say he was hampered by the guy before him, how is that any different than the guy before Dana not having guys here on campus but claiming to be the best classes the school has ever seen. We had no NCAA violations, this was just our idiot coaches strategy. :L

Same ol crap from you...world ending world ending. Everything was better before, anyone would coach this team better. blah blah blah....there is a ignore option if you do not like what I say, it is useful.

Jim, the sky is not falling, and no I do not have mental or chemical issues. Dana Holgorsen has made this team worse with each passing week. The guys on here who are still on his bandwagon are grasping for straws at ANY excuse they can find. Losing the way WVU did to Kansas and IAST is inexcusable, and to try to make excuses is laughable. This team, with THESE players, BEAT OSU and TCU, played to a tie with TEXAS, and played down for down with Oklahoma, only to get taken to the woodshed by Kansas, Maryland, and Baylor. The coaching is a serious issue, and not just on Saturday, but through the week. The kids are not buying what the coaches are selling, and it gets worse each week. I am a realist, in a VERY negative situation looking at the joke this once proud program is becoming. There is no shame in losing to a better team, but there is shame in the way that WVU is losing to worse teams, and getting beat by three TDs on a regular basis. I think had Luck not foolishly signed Holgorsen to the extension in an emotional response to the Orange bowl win (sound familiar?), Holgorsen would be on the unemployment line today.

Jonny, these guys are so lost in there love of Luck that they will make ANY excuse for how a coach that wins three fewer games each year is a success. THIS team desperately needs those extra practices!!!!

What I suggest, Jim, is that these coaches took a group of players who ARE bowl worthy, and through less than bad coaching made it impossible. The team that beat OSU was "bowl worthy" The team that played Texas to a tie was as well. These coaches are NOT improving, as a matter of fact, they are getting worse. I do not understand your posts, as you have the same beliefs as I in regards to Holgorsen, yet you attack me just as the guys who want to see Luck and Holgorsen take the program down do.

:wtf2::omg::lol:

I guess you still have not realized half the team was injured, they had played to many snaps that their bodies gave out from lack of depth.

I don't think there was a person alive that loved WVU more then the late BS. With that said I think he had the best intentions, but was in over his head. The lack of Depth is his fault be it with the right intentions or not. This only Holgerson's SECOND recruiting class. The first one after Orange bowl was BS's, when the bullshit hit the fan, it was so far into the recruiting season that it was over for the most part. Holgerson needs one more recruiting class to have his fair shot. It is the same situation RR was in, in Michigan. I think they fired him a year to soon also. I hope we don't make the same mistake.

UHHH, MOST of those injured players were back for the 24 point meltdown IN MOUNTAINEER FIELD to IAST. The "lack of talent" excuse only holds so much water when the team gets worse each week....... This is year three, and our "offensive guru" does not have a QB who can run his offense, gives excuses that the QBs on the roster "cant learn the offense" As a coach it is HIS job to teach the kids. Talk about in over his head............. read the newspapers, watch the ESPN and fox sports shows, a half a dozen Luck lovers on here are who we are supposed to listen to over the rest of the nation????????:lame:

Dad you hit the head of the nail there. We did not have a QB this year who could run his system. You may also note that our Defense was undersized and underexperienced leading them to get tired and fade late in games. Young team, young coach, no QB what do you really expect.

You can blame the QB situation on Holgerson who only recruited one QB who quit the team. You can't blame him for having his chosen QB lost for the season. He did bring in Trickett and Logan Moore to add depth. Neither proved to be special.

Everyone on this board can see Holgerson's mistakes. RR made mistakes, Nehlen made mistakes and Stewart made mistakes. They all learned from thier mistakes, and so will Holgerson. Luck has told us that Holgerson will be here next year. As fans, we hope for the best.

You Mr. Dad are not a fan, you are a hater. You hate Luck, you hate Holgerson, you hate everything WVU since HCBS was fired. You say it is inexcuseable for the coach to lose to texas and oklahoma with this team. Did you have the same things to say when we lost to ECU or Colorado? Twisted!

No sir I did NOT say losing to Texas or Oklahoma was inexcusable, go back and read, I said a 24 point meltdown AT HOME against IAST was inexcusable. As to mistakes, yes people make mistakes, some learn from their mistakes, some do not. As I said, the WAY some of the games this year were lost is what sucks. As mentioned, the meltdown against IAST, Texas could EASILY have been a win with some running plays called on the last posession, rather than three passes and a punt, how many more games could have been won by not fair catching punts inside the five, or running KOs out of the endzone and being tackled at the 10, rather than taking a knee and starting at the 25. There will always be disappointing losses, but I ould rather lose because the right play was called and the kid fumbled than to see a lead disappear because a hard headed coach had to run "his" play and give the other team the ball with good field position and time on the clock.

And I once saw a WVU coach call about 23 straight running plays to protect a lead. Guess what, they did not block well and let the other team back in the game.

Do you really think kids are coached to catch the ball inside the 5, or fumble the punt?

Did you see how Iowa State changed their lineup in the second half and stuffed the run? Why did we pass? Maybe it was to get a first down as the run game was shut down. If those passes were completed, we win the game.

Of course, you know better than the coach. 23 straight run plays may have won us that game.

Thats right another, as has become the norm with this staff, they make NO adjustments as the game progresses. Holgorsen was outcoached by EVERY coach we faced this year. AND the run game was NO WAY shut down by IAST, Sims was running at will for most of the game, and Smith was running really really well in the second half.
