Hey guys, this isnt a recruiting update, but just a quick response on the verdict of Sandusky. Do you think the verdict was right? (I believe so) But what are your guys' reactions to the people in the media and public solely placing blame on Joe Paterno?

We've kind of steered away from that on this board. There were some threads over on the sports general discussion board, like this one (be warned - there are some PSU fans in there, but a bunch of outsider asshats, too). I'm just glad it's over, and hopefully the settlement phase will happen quickly - I'm hearing an offer has been put out to settle with all of the victims at once. Of course, the media is going to try and squeeze all of the drama out of this that they can. For a couple of seasons, they are going to be bringing this up every telecast, but it will eventually die down. I think Coach O'Brien is best to just not talk about it - it's not his mess, and he's here to get the program moving forward. If a reporter nags him about it, just shut him down and never take another question from him.

Hearing that BOB and company absolutely killed it this weekend with Johnson and his family, we now are in driver's seat and he may commit very soon.

This would be huge folks, kid was heavy Pitt lean, but BOB and the boys have been relentless and apparently won over mom and grandma, No way our previous staff puts this much work in and even gives us a legit chance.

5-star OL Dorian Johnson is the 12th commit for the Nittany Lions' class. The 5-star, 6'6", 268 pounder hails from Belle Vernon, PA, and had > 20 offers.

On both Rivals and Scout he's listed as a 4 star prospect. Could you link me to a source where it has him as a five star?

He's also #26 overall player on ESPN 150. Kid is a top shelf OT, should be a big help in recruiting Tyler Boyd, along with Hack who bonded with him at the Rivals camp over the weekend.

With his offer sheet, no way Johnson is anything less than a 5-star. Rivals and Scout will probably give him big bump when rankings get redone.

Nice!!!! Im happy with this pick up. I thought we had a chance, but I knew he had alot of offers from some very good football programs! Like I said, this is huge!!! Especially when it's only 2 days after Sandusky's guilty verdict

Only time Pitt gets a kid is when they have some sort of circumstance tying them down from leaving home, ala Shell and his newborn twins and crazy girlfriend, Revis and his horrible grades, Foster apparently has academic issues and seems scared to leave home. Hell, the reason they got McCoy is because we told him no when he tried to commit because he hadn't done what the staff asked of him academically at prep school. I flat out heard him say "This is home, this is where I am coming to school" several times on teh sideline of a game the weekend he tried to commit.

I don't think we are in the mix, but we are still trying. That said, heard he has a ways to go to qualify for anyone.

Grades, SAT/ACT. Then again, Darrelle Revis had no business in college and Pitt somehow snuck him in and kept him eligible. Just hearing a lot of red flags about Foster. Great athlete, but not a polished WR either.

out of the 3; scout, rivals, and 247, put them in order from worst to best(3 being the lowest(worst) and 1 highest(best) I want to know which one to follow closely because since the fall of 2005 Ive followed both rivals and scout (which in reality they are good, but their rankings(as with any other site) are completely different from one another.
