early on I think randle plays too much of a perimeter game. haven't seen any post up ability at all. a lot of this driving into paint he wont be able to do against better defenders in every day nba

I hear that TJF12. Kobe will have a chat with this fellow because I think right now his head has gotten a little too big for his own good.

I agree TrojanFight. Dude won't be going into the middle against anybody in the NBA like that without getting his head handed to him.

well I have seen now about 5 or 6 times this randle guy call for the ball in the backcourt take the ball and go 1 on 5. not sure on his work ethic he doesn't get back on d. when he doesn't have ball he just stands around...seems like we got a PF that thinks hes a guard.

I get it its summer league...but act like your trying to make an impression on a team..not out there auditioning for some and 1 mix tape! ill try not to read into it much...but makes no sense why a PF is repeatedly bringing ball up the floor.

Yes, let's all start over-analyzing summer league performances. Because nothing predicts NBA success better than a glorified college barnstorming event

Saw him, and not over-analyzing either but... He does like the drive and kick, which will hurt when he plays real defenders if he doesn't figure it out, but if he does he could be a decent set up man at the 4... Reminds me of Boozer without the jumper yet... Don't know if that's good or bad... Don't really like his hieght but he looks strong... In all my first impression is a solid role player, borderline all-star in years to come... I stand by we should have traded the pick, how much better is he than Kelly and I also see a guy I think named Ross that looked good...

I like Clarkson so for and that was way before his tip in... He looks fast and works hard defensively... I also saw Roddy B and was pleasantly surprised... Unfortunately we have a like 5 PGs none of which I'm excited about so I doubt there is a spot for him unless he plays the 2 which if I recall correctly was the problem for him in Dallas...

Lastly, I hate to say it but Phil and Fish are making me hate what the Lakers are doing even more... They seem to be giving the Knicks hope and direction... When Phil was being interviewed he just spoke with such confidence and poise, while his team was killing the other team... Then the moves he made with the position they were in, while Mitch sounded like, oh we tried but blah blah blah... I'm just waiting for the Kobe is being traded to the Knicks for Amare or Bargnani... Then you guys to say, great move we get rid of his contract and maybe now we get our top 5 protected back...:gaah:

I agree Wlk3 on all of your counts. Phil may not have said it publically, but by his behavior and success I think he will demonstrate just what a buffoon short buss really is. Revenge is a dish best served cold and from a distance is that is indeed Phils motive. I think Phil will just be Phil and show short buss as a default that short buss really doesn't have a clue and all of the ego battles he had were to the detriment of short buss and the Lakers. Sort of like: "I told you so, dumbass".

I don't think anybody would say it's a great move trading Kobe for the Knicks trash. And what exactly has Phil done that is so wonderful? Resign their star player to a bigger contract than he could get elsewhere? Trade for Calderon? Such brilliance. No one here would get excited over Calderon.

Julius Randle is a big man. He'll figure out how to attack better with his dribble. It's not a bad thing to have a guy that can grab the rebound, push the ball up, and make plays at the offensive end. He definitely has a lot of work to do, but I'm seeing some good things.

Calderon is perfect for the triangle... He got Larkin who's looking nice... He got draft picks... He didn't put up billboards saying please stay, he said go ahead and look we move forward either way... He signed a coach, and Fish looks good so far... As a Lakers fan you have to agree Fish has something... Biggest thing was Phil walked in and said let's get this shit started... He wasn't scared to make moves, when Kerr backed out he wasn't nervous or didn't give up, he went to the next step...

What have we done...?

1) Sign Kobe to an outrageous contract before the season was over...
2) let Dantoni walk which was good
3) use the picks we had
4) didn't get any targets in free agency again
5) traded for a weak PG who makes a lot of money so we could get a 20+ pick...
6) let a top 10 player at his position walk for free

Looks like everything we're doing is reactionary... If you and Trojans want to sit back and talk about the garbage we have and how cute they look in their uniforms that's fine, but the shit I'm seeing isn't worth me paying 200 bucks for league pass and 30+ on a new hat that I get every year... I did it last year knowing we would be shitty... This was supposed to be the "year", now it's next year, even before next year starts we're talking 2016... That's bullshit...

We still don't have a coach... We're not better than last year where we won the #7 pick, unless Kobe comes back and wills us better... And as stated he's going to NY for whomever Phil decides to give us...:L

lol well he makes good points IMO. Gasol left for nothing. Greed from LA side botched the sign and trade. Nothing for howard. Who's next? If jim buss has his handprint on everything like it seems wouldn't surprise me if mitch sees a greener pasture elsewhere. I'm optimistic to an extent. I'm gonna be pretty irate if next free agency is a repeat of this one.

Wow... Did you just tell me to become a clippers fan after 25 years because I'm not happy that our FO office seems to be reactionary instead of proactive...? Because I expect honesty, rather than bullshit... Maybe you should join the Timberwolves fans... They're fine with sending out a loser without trying to get better nor expecting things to change...:noidea:

That's all I'm saying... Last year was the whole, everybody gets a 1 year deal so we can be ready and maybe get a top pick... Then they sign Kobe to a crazy deal, but say they have a plan... Well here we are, what's the fuckin plan...? To be shitty again, hope to get a good pick and hope to sign somebody... If that doesn't work rinse wash repeat... If we're going to rebuild, let's get to it! Why the hell sign Kobe to that shitty deal... Why not trade Pau when we had the chance then fuck it up when we get a mulligan... There is no direction at all and all we got to show for it is Lin, Randle and a 20+ pick... Sorry for not going out to get my hat early this year...:L
