I’ve looked at tons of drafts and college player rankings. I think most/all of these guys are pretty close to the general area they will be selected. But who knows....

I’d want something in this year’s draft, too, but yeah I’m down with pushing assets into ‘21. We certainly don’t need to make 12 picks this year.

Hard to see either team making that trade. They both still stand a great chance of being a bottom-10 team in the league. Usually only see teams willing to make that kind of deal if they think they are a player away.

but hey teams are usually pretty stupid in understanding where they are at so if the Pats can make that happen they should for sure do that.

I'm only trading down if I get a 2nd this year + another pick in 2021 whatever the value chart says. This is a good draft can't sit around till the 3rd round too many holes to fill and too many good prospects out there 1-64.

Or make the trade for next years 1st if BB can bundle some of this years picks and get into the 2nd round?

I was thinking along the lines of stalling a QB panic search for a year. Not that BB would "panic" but be right at the head of the draft with a top 5 pick as well as our own 1st round pick.
And if Stidham pans out, we get to grab our next Willie McGinest.

McGuinest was drafted fourth overall. If Stidham pans out the next Willie will be long gone. It's been twenty years with the same dilemma, the good pick positions have been from trades.

That's my point.
Trade this years 1st to a team that needs 1st rounders to get better. Like Cincy or Washington. Odds are they will still be bottom 5 next year, we would have 2 1st rounders.Our own mid 20's or higher, plus the trade.
If Stidham flames out quick, we got capitol to be in the Trevor Lawrence hunt. If he doesn't flame out, BB could go any direction with two 1st round picks.

I too don't see the Pats taking a QB this year. IMO there are three QBs on the roster lets roll with that.

I'm hoping Stidham is the deal and BB is not looking at QB next year either.
BB has been exceptional with finding starting caliber QB's in the later rounds.

Well, we'll see there are issues there but if Stidham has a willingness to learn and put the work in I think he may be decent. Time will tell. I wonder how much the play calling will be different with his skill sets?
