That's a fair criticism that us Longhorns fans have used against Mack ourselves. Maybe you haven't noticed my avatar.

That doesn't change my point. OU is NOT getting top talent out of Texas anymore. Stoops doesn't seem to be focusing on the state like he used to. I think the last big name recruit he got was McFarland, and that dude was average at best. This is showing up especially on the defensive side of the ball. There is NO draftable talent on the current D for next year. I don't think any from last year got drafted or made a roster this last year either.

That's partially because of venebles. With mike stoops taking over on D again I think we'll see the defense improve. If last weekend was any indication, possibly as early as this year.

I do know I've never seen a sooner or longhorn fan try to bolster their rivalry based on their band.

What does OSU have? The band dots the eye with a 420 lb Tuba player who's heart rate by the time he gets there is somewhere north of 140 bpm.

I would agree that Stoops went away from texas a few years. Hell look how bad texas was with texas recruits. DeMarco Murray, Landry Jones, Kenny Stills, Tony Jefferson, Roy Finch where all from somewhere other than Oklahoma or Texas. But now with Trevor Knight and Keith Ford hes starting to find texas talent again.

Also Stoops is 2-1 vs Oregon(should be 3-0,screw job), 3-0 vs Florida State, 2-0 vs Alabama and winning records vs. Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas St. when they where good.

Gotta disagree with you on that last one. Stoops has won how many conference titles, and made how many bcs appearances? Won a national title and appeared in a hard fought bcs title game as recently as 2008. Also winning a couple bcs bowls in the mean time. I wouldn't call that sucking.

yep.....now list all their star rankings, you will be surprised. Show me the top ranked texans he has. List all the guys that were top 10, 20 in the state.

Is he getting Texans? Sure. Is he getting top ranked Texans? Not like he used to.

The #1 rated RB and QB out if Texas in 2013 are on campus. Foot in mouth star.
