I always saw it as any sort of minority group who wanted rights (blacks, women, etc) but I can see how it can be more about the gay community.

Magneto saw mutants as the next step in human evolution (as humans were to apes)

He sees nothing wrong with using their genetically given abilities, and society hasn’t legislated against them to a certain extent.

as for the voice actors...I don't think they need to use the same voices they had back in the 90's. No reason to do that.

I just hope the animation is a little cleaner. You go back and watch any of these old cartoons and they just look terrible.

The story of a (non racial) minority group that does not exist in real life is not really woke.
Making this woke would be inserting current and "real" social justice issues into it.
