It wasn’t woke. The X-Men used to symbolize the fight against “wokism” (Even though it wasn’t a thing yet and CRT wasn’t main stream) and the violent people that practice it. Now, they’ll probably be woke vigilantes or some dumb shit.

the X-Men cartoon and the Spider-man cartoon were two of my favorites growing up

but I would be disappointed if they were to get away from the source material like you are suggesting.
