What’s a UCF?

It's UFC spelled wrong.

I'd hope Greg Byrne wouldn't dare to say something so stupid.

Honestly...the first giant killer was Florida State.

We did it year after year after year, remaining an Independent
and winning on the road. It went on for a good 10 years.
Then it paid off.

False, the first giant killer was Alabama.

A few years back, UCF was 0'fer for the season. Go back a tad further, pre-Bortles, and nobody knew shit about "Central Florida". They were a C-USA school that produced Culpepper, B-Marsh, and a deaf running back. It actually impressive how fast they've catapulted to the national spotlight in CFB.

And Danny White makes some bold statements, but a lot of credit to him. He created a campaign last season that brought the school a lot of money and attention.

The Fiesta Bowl upset over Briles' Baylor was a pretty big deal too. Much, much less talented team than the one that beat Auburn last year.
That Auburn also beat 2 "play off teams" last year Bama and UGA. UCF has its share of signature wins. Some of the debate against UCF G5 is pretty much a catch 22. "UCF needs to put themselves on the map". But they don't belong in an already flawed play offs system where they have the opportunity to do so.

UCF AD is correct whether it be G5 or P5 there's been a large enough sample size. To see they clearly need to go to at least a 6 team play off system. And there is really no viable reason not to

Not sure how that can qualify. Give the story I guess?

No 1 Harvard, unbeaten in 25 straight games, lost at home
to tiny Centre College from Danville, Ky 6-0 in 1921.

Bo McMillan led the way for Centre.

Oh, well that doesn't count to me. That's just an upset. Maybe if they had taken it further.

I'm more thinking along the lines of building up a program into a top respectable program. Alabama and the Rose Bowl wins bringing respect to the south in general, FSU playing people and beating them to get where they are, etc.

I'll go along with all of that.
