hadn't thought about BrasierFrom Mark Feinsand:
Aside from Hader, some prominent free-agent relievers remain unsigned, including Robert Stephenson, Hector Neris, Aroldis Chapman, David Robertson, Jakob Junis and Ryan Brasier, leaving a number of options available for teams seeking a bullpen boost.
it isn't that Langford is better than Carter or vice versa, but that they are both better than Taveras or Martinez or Zavala, etcWhat is Langford better at than Carter? I’m assuming he hits lefties way better than Carter for starters.
Someone else can have Chapman. Him called a prominent free agent is based upon his past laurels. From Mark Feinsand:

I would not be opposed to Chapman for the 5th or 6th innings. If we get another viable closer signed then I would feel comfortable that Bochy would not put Chapman in the closer mix. I would rather have someone else, but I can take Chapman if he is considered the 5th best option or worse.Someone else can have Chapman. Garver redeemed himself and became a pretty decent DH with some pop. From Jeff Wilson:
The Rangers have an opening at designated hitter, but it's unlikely that Langford would be relegated to full-time DH duties should he win a roster spot. The Rangers could rotate players through the spot in an effort help get them a day off from standing in the field defensively, with Langford part of the group.
If he doesn't make the club, Justin Foscue, added to the 40-man roster in November, and Crim have a chance to get more DH at-bats than a typical rookie would.

On the other hand, I am still not convinced that Chapman wasn't trouble in the clubhouse. It sure seemed lile we became a lesser team once we acquired him. It could just be a coincidence, I guess.
I am happy for him but glad he could walkGarver redeemed himself and became a pretty decent DH with some pop.
Yeah, I would not want him pitching in the 7th. As far as his price, that is yet to be determined. He is overpriced even for a 7th inning role
