I was hoping JD's MO would have left with him.

Was thinking the same thing. Seems like CY is going to sit on his hands and have the better relievers get signed out underneath him and signing injured pitchers. This reminds a lot of when the Mavericks won the championship.

When you trade for a 38 year old pitcher whose ERA is up almost 2 runs from the year before, this is what you get.

I said when we were going after him we were going after the wrong guy. Verlander was my choice as I figured he would hold up better. This doesn't surprise me. We will see how he does after he comes back.

WE would not. Seems like over-the-hill and injured is CY preference. DeGrom Scherzer and now Mahle.

In his first season Miller had an ERA of 4.32. However, if you take out the two bad starts he had against the Rangers his ERA would have been 3.61. This is the kind of guy I wouldn't mind trading for and have him stay stretched out in AAA.

This makes even more sense today.

A Roki Sasaki posting, followed by him signing with the Rangers, would be a great development. I believe today is the deadline to get him posted.

I do think there is a decent chance that one of our young pitchers in AAA could prove they are ready to come up by some time in May. Maybe 6 or 7 weeks into the season.

Whoever our 5th, or our next starter to be acquired is, I have a lot of confidence in the other 4 starters.

This time last year I was looking forward to seeing Zak Kent pitch up here as much or more than Cody Bradford. He had pretty much a lost year due to an injury, but I think he shows us something this year.

So he’ll probably sign Kershaw now to a 2 year deal and have 4 starters coming back after the All-Star break.

Developing pitchers hasn’t been the Rangers strong point. Sure thought Leiter would be up here by now when they drafted him.
