No More "Bullpen Failure"

Good thing is that Texas is bringing back 8/9 of the batting lineup and has Langford knocking at the door plus guys like Foscue, Duran, Huff and Crim that all have a decent shot at being viable DH candidates. As for the SP- there's pretty good mix of quality and depth with Eovaldi, Scherzer, Dunning, Gray, Bradford, and Heaney to start the year along with White and Kent(?) as AAA depth, and - as you mentioned - deGrom(!!) and Mahle likely returning sometime after the All Star Break, there's good reason to feel good there. As long as they invest in a couple of more quality bullpen pieces there's no reason not to be extremely optimistic going into next year that this team can compete for another championship. It is becoming pretty clear the Rangers don't intend to spend much. Montgomery is not going to be back. I do not see them signing Hader and the offense will consist of internal replacements for FA's like Garver moving on.
The SP is going to be the guys currently on the roster with hopes that DeGrom comes back in August as does Mahle to slot into the rotation and move guys like Dunning and Heaney to the BP like this past season.
He is a talent a good FB it seems
In his first season Miller had an ERA of 4.32. However, if you take out the two bad starts he had against the Rangers his ERA would have been 3.61. This is the kind of guy I wouldn't mind trading for and have him stay stretched out in AAA.
Minnesota got steered wrong in that tradeIn 2022 the Reds traded Mahle to the Twins for 3 top 30 prospects.
I was hoping JD's MO would have left with him.I think the Rangers add more pitching certainly more than EG thinks but I doubt if it is Hader.
Just not their MO
And Mahle is not really taking a roster spot He is heading to the 60 man IL

per Jeff Passan ESPN.Just read Mahle had a ERA 4.30 over eight years(122 starts). In last five starts he was 3.16 before infury.
unfortunately, without signing at least one starter and a reliever/closer, with this news, this team will be out of competition by the ASB at least 10-14 games out in the west.
