We wouldn't gain anything financially from trading Duran since his replacement would cost just about the same, but him getting traded is still a possibility.

I think if they trade Taveras, Duran becomes more valuable to the Rangers since he can play the OF

Duran is a talent but where is he going to play in the lineup. that's the problem facing the Rangers with him. the infield is pretty much set with Heim, Jung, Seager, Semien and Lowe unless we bench or trade one of them and the outfield is pretty much set with Garcia, Taveras, Carter, Langford. and Jankowski. where do we give him the playing time?

listening to the words CY has said about him the Rangers aren't giving up on him just unsure where they can find him playing time this coming season or next. teams find themselves in this kind of situation all the time

Duran needs to show that he can hit the slider. He needs to quit swinging at sliders in the dirt or way out of the strike zone. He was terrible with the bat second half of the season.

I would imagine filling in for Seager and Jung when they get hurt will give him at least 50 games to start at those two positions.

For all we know we may need a SS come opening day. Now I am not against him starting AAA for more seasoning. Just not ready to bail on him

Over the last 4 seasons, not counting 2020, Seager has not started at SS an average of 42 games.per year.

If Duran is his backup, he is probably going to play a lot of games.

Jung hasn't been the picture of health either.

Who knows how many games Bochy will replace Carter with a RH hitter when a lefty is facing us. They could slide Langford over to CF and put Duran in LF in those games.
