I know earlier the Rangers said that they weren’t going to take less than what they were owed. This will be interesting.Nothing new on the Bally front.

Word is they take the 15% discountI know earlier the Rangers said that they weren’t going to take less than what they were owed. This will be interesting.
I’m surprised the Rangers haven’t gone after Ben Williams.Burnes has been traded to the Orioles.
This one hurts bc it seems he was gotten on the cheap in my opinion.
I heard someone say it was the equivalent of us trading Walcott and White. This one hurts bc it seems he was gotten on the cheap in my opinion.
Nice comparisonI heard someone say it was the equivalent of us trading Walcott and White.
we may end up trading Duran and Taveras at some point this season so trusting young guys will come as early as opening daySome random notes on the Rangers financial situation.
It is hard to fault ownership when the payroll is right at or just about the luxury tax level.
Our not developing pitchers is costing us financially. If we had developed White or Winn already, we would have needed one less expensive pitching addition.
Our not recognizing the pitching we have developed continues to cost us. We could still have a very cheap and very good starting pitcher in Ragans. Some outside the organization had already noticed his improvement, yet the Rangers still kept him in the pen. Let's not make the same mistake with Bradford.
Had we spent on a decent relief pitcher last offseason, we could still have a very cheap Ragans in the rotation, that is, if we had tried Ragans in the rotation. Who knows, if we had kept him, he night still be in our bullpen.
At some point we have to take a chance on young pitchers and be patient with them. It might cost us some wins, but we could develop some really good pitchers who don't cost much of anything, if we do. Guys like Kent, White, Leiter and Acker may need to be brought up and given some time to get acclimated to the big leagues. Their final stages of development, up here in the big leagues, cannot be microwaved to completion.
As is the case with pitching, we might have to be patient with some young hitters. Evan Carter is the exception. We cannot expect every young hitter to hit the ground running like he did.
Degrom's injury and the trade of Ragans cost us financially as we had to find expensive replacements to their spots in the rotation.
If the Rangers were more willing to trust some younger guys it could save money. If would be financially prudent to trade Taveras and put LF up for grabs between Langford, Duran and Jankowski. Either way, Langford gets the spot eventually. Trading Taveras doesn't save a ton of money, but it wouldn't be so hard to pay Adolis if some of the money saved by trading Leody, was used to pay Adolis.
Foscue, Crim, Huff, and in a year or so, Abimelec Ortiz could all be in play for 1B. Trading Lowe would free up money as well.
The Rangers spent a lot to win the World Series last year. That may force the team to take a step back to recover financially. With all the talent we have coming up, we should be better than ever in the not to distant future
Have to assume that is part of the agreementNo news on if the rest of the TV contract(2025-2034) has been voided or not.
