So IMO it has never been about the Diamond Bally fiasco shorting $

It has been about the luxury tax hit if they go to the next threshold. Thus unless you defer money like what happened to DRob, signing Monty puts you over

The owners have spent but they are no Cohen

Arbitration hearings started today. Wonder when they will get to Garica’s case.

Yep, it has mostly been about the tax threshold, I think.

They still could offload money in a trade and sign Montgomery.

he hit well against both right and left handers but he only bats from the right side
Not trying to be a smart aleck but Carter only hits from the left side. I think it can be easier for a RH batter to hit RH pitchers than for a LHer to hit LH pitchers in general.

Pretty bogus list
Turner is a fill in and Bregman on one list is below Jung. I like Gunner but there is an over infatuation with him

The specific terms under discussion aren’t known. However, Drellich reports that the Guardians and Rangers are expected to lose 15% or less of what they otherwise would have received in 2024. It’s unclear how much of a reduction Minnesota might need to take on their next contract. On the one hand, that’s still an unenviable position for those organizations. A 15% reduction could knock roughly $8.25MM off the Guardians’ expected revenues, while the Rangers’ deal could be reduced by something in the $17MM range by that criteria. (The precise figures are unclear, since the teams’ anticipated rights fees in 2024 were not necessarily the same as what they’d made in ’23).

Looks like our old friend, Jake Diekman is heading to the Mets.

From Jeff Wilson:

Young said that the pain wasn't bad enough to keep Seager from playing, and he played his tail off. He hit one of the most famous home runs in Rangers history in Game 1 of the World Series en route to being the series MVP.

However, it wasn't the first World Series homer hit by a Rangers player with a sports hernia. Josh Hamilton hit two-run shot in Game 6 of the 2011 World Series shortly after the Cardinals had forced a tie in the ninth inning.

Hamilton underwent surgery shortly after the season and in 2012 launched 42 home runs, including four in one game.

No pressure, Corey.
