Phily should bunt single....fucking unwritten rules man!!
Who is pitching tomorrow for the Astros? With Verlander going tomorrow, someone would have worn one had they bunted for a hit in the 9th.

Still gotta play 1 more in Philly first, hoss.
It's down to a best of 3.
Cool your roll.

I understand better than you the locations of each game.

I was talking about... NOW, we guaranteed another game in Htown.

Don't correct the hoss...

From 9-0 to no hits
Baseball is almost literally random from one game to the next. You don't really see good teams separate themselves from bad in any one game or series. No other sport is like this.

Have absolutely no idea why Javier was a partial starter and relegated to game 4 duties.

This dude is a stud.

Game 3 was always huge for Phillies.

Astros can hit Nola and Javier is good. Then they got fucking Syndergaard going tomorrow.

Have to hope Playoff JV keeps showing up.
Javier was straight filthy. It’s scary that he’s their 4th option.

I really think after the loss, Thompson needs to redirect and throw Wheeler today. The Phil’s have shown they can hit Verlander. I think they’re 60% to win in a home matchup Wheeler v Verlander. That goes down to like 25% Wheeler vs Franimal at Houston in Game 6. I actually feel ok with Suarez taking the ball against McCullers if the Phil’s can get to 7. The best chance they have to get to that Game 7 is to save the bullpen game for Game 6 not Game 5. Now, if I’m Dusty, I pitch Javier on 4 days rest and hope to get 4-5 innings before handing the ball to that lights out pen. But Dusty won’t do that. He’s too old school. The pathway for the Phil’s now entails pitching Wheeler tonight, rolling the dice on trying to out hit them in Game 6 (not likely) and then coming hard with Suarez in Game 7.

Local Phillies telecasts have Ben Davis in studio and sometimes an in game analyst. His baseball career was not much of anything. The only thing he’s really known for was breaking up a no hitter with a bunt.

Here I am Cletus. Great game by Javier last night. That pitching you guys have is dominant. Game 5 is the one that determines this series (not exactly a hot take; more like Captain Obvious). Of all the choices in that starting rotation, I’m glad the Phil’s are seeing Mr. Kate Upton. That rotation is nasty but it’s clear that Verlander’s deal with the devil for success has a World Series clause.

That was the 2nd time the Phils were no no'd by committee this year.
The Mets used 5 pitchers to no hit them back on April 29th.
Yep. Next day the Phil’s beat the Mets 4-1. That’s one of the few Phillies head to head wins vs the Mets this season. That’s also the second combined no no Astros have had this year in a Javier start. They pulled that against the Yankees on June 25th. The next day the Yankees beat them 6-3.

That’s some good mojo.

Javier is very good at throwing a baseball.

Tonight, we have the Phils bullpen game vs the Cy Young winner with the worst World Series ERA in history.

Sounds like chaos.
Which is right where we belong.

Couple things, first being Javier in a game 7 is 3 days rest not 4.

If you throw Wheeler tonight hes on 4 days rest so thats not bad. But this truly becomes a game 7 if you throw Wheeler tonight and even with JV WS problems, hes still JV. Its a big risk.

You basically punt game 6 by doing that. No chance Syndergaard/a bullpen game beat Valdez. They would almost be better off throwing Suarez on short rest and praying, which is still almost certainly a loss. Then come Sunday you are now looking at the bullpen game and maybe short rest Nola? Considering the Astros kill him thats not much of an option anyways.

Phillies are at home tonight, better to bank on Thor and the BP at home. And keep their good pitching match ups for the road games. Switching tonight, gives the Astros massive advantages in their home park and potentially only needed to win 1.
