Isaiah George belongs at the NHL level and I don't care who he replaces in the starting lineup when (if?) all 6 DMen are healthy. If they send him down or keep him as a reserve when everyone is back it will be as dumb as re-signing and actually playing Matt Martin. This team just refuses to give any young kids a chance unless they are forced to.

The Islanders streak will very likely end tonight, but that's ok. Crushed by injuries and yet have still been really exciting recently. Plus Sorokin really needs a rest and Skarek (I assume) in Florida doesn't look too promising. Probably Florida by at least 3.

Just goes to show how hard it is to get back in playoff contention if you drop back significantly. Isles have won 7 in a row and they still have to chase down the Bolts, Bruins, and Wings to get to the 2nd wildcard spot.

and barely ahead of 4 other teams. Now starting 3 defenseman that they picked up in the last week or two and now Mayfield may have gotten hurt last night also. Waiting for news on him and Barzal.

Good luck to the Isles, have always admired that team going back to the Trottier, Bossy, Potvin, and Billy Smith days.

Buyer beware on Dobson. Way too many turnovers, lacks awareness around his own goal, loses his man in the defensive zone, bad angles in open space and weak, telegraphed passes. Also a little soft and lacks aggressiveness. Definitely a lot of potential for sure, but overrated IMO and partially because he was playing almost the entire power play and got a lot of point touches. If you are looking for a 2nd line DMan for a reasonable contract absolutely, but you don't want him on the ice for 22 plus minutes per game :2cents:

If the Isles were smart they would take any offer they can get for him as the value for D-men seems to be fairly high right know.

I agree and I think his offense is inflated due to the Isle lack of offense on the roster at the forward positions.

Defense is fine without him. Pelech has been incredible the last couple of weeks and looks like he may finally be really healthy. Playing as well as he has in 3 years. Pulock was also healthy again and having a really good season until his latest injury. DeAngelo has been great and unless he wears out his welcome looks like he should be back for one more season. Romanov is their best defenseman and just turned 25. Mayfield is a fine 3rd line defensive defenseman and that leaves one starting spot. In the very short time I've been impressed with Perunovich and Boqvist as in the mix type guys. Then they still have Reilly who is serviceable when he comes back and the young kids in the mix and especially George who I really like and think is a FT player next year. That isn't an amazing back line of course, but good enough to say they are much better off grabbing another top 6 forward than they are keeping Dobson.
