The only positive about the signing of both players is they played well together in Toronto. Whether they can regain that magic remains to be seen. I don't like the contracts they were given. Sorry but the numbers Kulimen put up last season leave a lot to be desired. He has a lot to prove, but due to the contract he received he might decide to float around the ice.

Considering that even in his least productive years he's never before been one to just "float around the ice" I'm not sure what you're basing that on.

Actually, can you tell me a little more about the type of player you think he is?

From what I understand Snow said Boston wants to much for Boychuk who's a pending UFA. From what I've read & heard they're going to see how things go during camp. Garth seems to think the defense is better than people think. He also expects Reinhart to be on the team this year from day 1.

I guess Boston wasn't interested in the soft enigma that is Josh Bailey.

That's like word suicide for GM's. Also, how on fucking earth can you Isles fans still put faith into what this moron says?!

The next two seasons are either going to work out and Garth will reap the benefits from his drafting and getting some good young depth or they won't and he'll be fired by the time the new owners take over majority ownership. I think Garth knows his time might be up if this doesn't work out in two years.

That should've happened after year 3, not year 10.

But the obvious potential of continuing the fine tradition of Islander GM's past was just way too alluring for Wang.

After they botched the whole Neil Smith debacle, it was sort of obvious that ownership was going to be an issue. Wang, while I'm grateful he kept them in NY, has no business owning a hockey team.

Maybe Garth is coddling the players too much, WW?

As long as Tavares stays healthy and they get consistent goaltending from Halak, the Islanders will be a playoff team IMO. The additions of Leddy and Boychuk have really helped the team so far.

What really, really sucks for the Isles is how much better they could've been if they had moved that first rounder for someone controllable. Too bad, really, because it looks like this is going to be a good year for them.

Tonight will be a very good test for the Isles.

Is De Haan simply the odd man out on D? Add Visnovsky to that D and it becomes even more impressive.
