If you look back at the post I was responding to he said I gave no evidence or facts so I said I gave more evidence and facts than any of you combined because they gave none. I never said, which is what you are dishonestly implying that my opinions are facts. Subjective opinions like I think chocolate is better than vanilla can't be wrong it is just one opinion. The truth is, as talented as he was, he only has 1 MVP (which matters), and during their 3-peat he was Robin to Shaq's batman. You can't claim GOAT status with a resume like that. Kobe is barely top 10 all-time at best, and I respect him, but that's the truth.

Shaq was physically born with the tools to dominate and did so when he put in the effort . Kobe wasn't the best ball handler , or the highest jumper , the most physical, wasn't even the best shooter. He just took what he was given and made himself great.
I'm a life long Laker fan and liked that LeBron came here but I didn't think he'd become a Laker great. Maybe win a title and then fade away. But he's doing what no ones done . To be this good at his age and showing he can still adapt when playing with another talented teammate. He wins a title this year and he does become a Laker great. Not like Kareem or Magic or Kobe for us older fans but for the 15-25 year olds he will be.

Your Shaq/Kobe comparison isn’t fair. Kobe played with prime Shaq while he was an up and comer.

By the time Shaq left, Kobe was in his prime and Shaq was not anymore.

The top 4 are obviously ahead of Kobe. No logical debate can say otherwise.

That is MJ, LeBron, Kareem and Magic

Beyond that?

There are many you can make a case for ahead of Kobe.

Shaq, Hakeem, Wilt, Bird, Duncan, Robertson

And that is before we even get to current players who will have overall resumes very comparable to Kobe’s. Guys like Steph, Durant, and maybe even Jokic.

Personally, I have Kobe at 9. 10 years from now my bet is that many will rate him outside the top 10.

2. Wilt
3. Kareem
4. Bird
5. Magic
6. Jordan

8. George Mikan

IMO Kobe belongs in a 1A group of all-time greats, like

2. Tim Duncan
3. Hakeem
4. Steph Curry
