The OP has managed to make his argument so dense, thick, and dismissive when other routes could have been taken to at least condense some of the text, that there is little chance of anyone reading the entire argument. The OP's miniscule post count in conjunction with this mountain of text is going to make any poster open to the idea looking for a TLDR rather quickly as the trust factor for such an endeavor really isn't there. To me, that's on the OP.

91.2% of the OP's posts in over the span of a year have come in two threads:

http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/...go-down-top-10-defensive-player-all-time.html

http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/...ball-player-julius-peppers-demarcus-ware.html

The third and final thread the OP created? It's about if Tim Hardaway Jr. can be the next Michael Jordan. Going to politely disagree on that one.

http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/...n/137346-tim-hardaway-jr-going-superstar.html

This thread comes off an awful lot like a guy with a monologue who just won't reciprocate in conversation; or in this case, criticism in a way that is actually constructive to the message board.

The OP is either a stalker, a family member or Peppers himself. Lets stop debating him and see if he keeps posting anyway. What is the record for same person posts in a row?

He definitely will be a hall of famer. As far as sacks, there's a lot more to being a dominant defender besides just sacks man, as I've pointed out numerous other times, Peppers does more than just get sacks. He forces tons of fumbles which may be a turnover if his team recovers, recovers fumbles which get his team the ball back, gets passes defensed which is a wasted down for the offense or may lead to an interception, gets interceptions himself which get his team the ball back, blocks kicks which wipes points off the board for opposing teams, gets plenty of sacks and hurries QB's into rushed decisions leading to bad throws or possibly INT's. Has scored 6 defensive touchdowns in his career, (a great number for a D lineman) which puts points on the board for his team. Sets the edge against the run better than just about any 4-3 DE. Takes on double teams allowing his teammates to make plays, (gets double teamed more than most elite edge rushers.) Moves all over the line and plays linebacker and can drop into coverage smoothly showcasing his valuable skill set and versatility. More so than any DE to ever play the game.

If Peppers plays until he's 40, which he very well could, and continues to dominate, he could very well be considered a top 10 defensive player of all time.

Sacks for a DE is there biggest statistice. plus i already spoke of him probably being the most balenced ever, which would include FFB and FB along with his INTS

Great player, and a deserved HOF'er....but nowhere close to all time top 10. That's a straight joke.

Peppers is probably on the top ten list of his current team. That's debatable but I'll go ahead and concede. Hope this helps.

Hell, I can give you a handful of Steelers alone that were better defensive players than Peppers...

"Mean" Joe Greene

Mel Blount

Jack Lambert

Jack Hamm

Rod Woodson

Troy Polamalu

Ernie Stautner

L.C. Greenwood

I could even make arguments for Joey Porter, Kevin Greene, and James Harrison

And that's just this franchise - I could do the same for just about any franchise out there, including the Bears. I could come up with a handful of better Bears players just from the '85 team alone.

Peppers may (MAY) be a Hofer, but let's not go nuts and say he's one of the top 10 ever.

Yeah, he's either the lone sighted fan in a see of blind men, or it's the other way around. Not a tough call.

Top 10? No way.
Main reason is his name is a combination of a beverage featuring orange juice and a spicy vegetable.

I'd compare Peppers with someone like Rod Ninkovich of the Patriots.

One has a wealth of physical talents but under-achieved with those talents.

The other has just average NFL abilities but regularly over-achieves.

Oh please. Allen and Harrison were both better in their primes than Peppers ever has been. And callining Allen a one trick pony is laughable as he was worlds better against the run than Peppers ever was during his prime years.

Peppers is more versatile than any of the players on the list but he flat out didn't show up like other players did because he didn't have the high motor that other less talented players had.

He was "dominant" in so far as he was often the best player on the defenses he played on more often than not. But so were a lot of edge players of this era.

And everyone on that list made GAME CHANGING plays for their teams. In fact most of them did it is a much higher rate than Peppers ever did. That is why his stats (you know....plays that he made) were always a little lower than everyone on that list.

To me Peppers will always be a little bit of a disappointment in the same way Mario Williams has been. Both physical specimens that have no peer in the league. But they were never even all that close to the most dominant defensive players in any given year during their entire career.

i dont want too but i feel i should. Peppers was and is a better overall player than Allen, Allens weeakness is defending the run. he gets out of position a bit and teams tend to run towards him. he also doesn't normally drop into coverage. Peppers could drop into and was solid against the run as his carreer ran on.

on a different note. comparing Peppers to Harrisson or any OLB is insane. he was a 4-3 DE and it is against them he should be compared.

The best version of Jared Allen is better than the best version of Julius Peppers. Not even close, and adding the word "overall" doesn't make a difference or change the argument.

I agree Pats Rob Ninkovich plays way over his head or size . If comparing Peppers to a Pats player or former one, I would say Richard Seymour but he aint sniffing top 10 anything. When you have a stud player, you dont let him go from one team to another and another. JJ Watt wont escape Houston

The Steelers franchise probably has the best line up of defensive players ever, that being said, the only one possibly above Peppers is Joe Greene. And we'll have to see but I believe Peppers could pass him on the all time greats list as well if he continues to play well for a few more seasons.

Peppers has an AV (approximate value higher than any of these guys not named Rod Woodson, and very well could pass him by the time he retires. Come to think of it, I'd take Peppers over any of these chumps.

Ummm, it's called free agency, the Panthers wanted to keep Peppers and franchised him in 2009 but Peppers wanted to go else where and try to win a ring so he left. Chicago was a bad choice, but GB was a good one. He's got a shot there.
