On the advice of many security experts I have removed Flash from my system. There are currently 3 exploits that are being taking advantage of by malware writers and Adobe has only patched one of them to date. The built in Flash in Google Chrome is not exempt from these exploits either so for that you'll have to go to settings and disable Flash. Since most sites are moving away from Flash you probably won't see any difference in most of your browsing. For more info read this article.

Should probably post this in the main forum where it will get more attention. It's good information and only a few people seem to come to this forum.

The only issue I have noticed once I removed flash, was that not having it installed limits your streaming capability. Many of the movie & TV show sites link to players that require flash. So there might be a hit or miss when trying to find something to watch & it will play without flash.

As he pointed out, it only takes a few seconds to reactivate the built-in flash player in chrome for those sites that still require it. Maybe it's a bit of a hassle, but it literally takes 5-10 seconds.

You can also set the firefox add on to always prompt if you want to allow flash to work on a page. Or have it disabled always and decide to turn it on when you want.

I find the prompt to be annoying honestly.

I've hated flash for a long ass time, so I am thrilled there is a movement to see it gone from the internet.

It's destined to go the way of active x and all of the other proprietary plugins before it. Open source alternatives are always better when they exist.

Thanks guys.

It'll be an honor when this screen goes black followed quickly by a bright white flash...

That's one ending, the other is several 12 gauge shotgun blasts straight into the heart of this POS mac.
