He will not be the first RB taken in the NFL draft, he a lot of carries but there are 4 or 5 RBs with a better yards per carry avg.
Great point. There have been tons of volume backs who have had better seasons. Hell, two years ago the nation's leader in rushing yards was Andre Williams from BC. 2177 yards with 18 TDs. I don't believe he even made it to NY, and he was by no means considered the best RB in the nation. Same with Ka'Deem Carey in 2012, LaMichael James in 2010, and probably the best comparison is Toby Gerhart in 2009 (1871 yards, 5.5 YPC, 27(!) TDs).

Had OSU run Elliot into the ground the way Saban did with Henry...he'd probably have this in a run away.
Doubtful. In the bigest game of the year OSU couldn't move the football. He lost the trophy against MSU.

Pretty sure Williams finished 4th and was a finalist.

Show me which ones played 5 games against top 25 defens and averaged over 150 yards a game averaging 1.8 td's per game.

Oh yeah, they invited more than 3 folks to NY back then.

They usually invite more than 3.

in 2005 i believe they invited only 3 (bush leinart quinn) but usually it seems to be 4 or 5 guys.

I'm pretty aure it varies on the year. If there are 4 guys they feel deserve it they will all go. If it's 5 then they take five. Thats why Mayfield and Elliot being left at home is a travesty.

They gave him 10 carries. They never gave him a chance.

I think they should set it at 5 and keep it there. Even if a guy isn't going to win, the trip to New York is cool for him and the program.

I mean, whether he has a real shot or not, who wouldn't want to see Keenan Reynolds in New York? Would be really cool to see a service academy kid there.

Reynolds plays Saturday, couldn't attend if he wanted. Well maybe, but it would be damn hard to get there after a game.

True. But just the invite would be cool to see. I always like seeing service academies getting some love.

You know if McCaffer broke Barry Sanders record against USC?

Urbs could tell he didn't have what it takes this season against decent competition and didn't want to lose even worse by wasting plays on him.

How can you win the heisman when you're not the best player at your position?

Well maybe because you're a really good RB who not only runs the ball but is a threat in the passing game and the return game .Christian also had 41 catches this year and Henry just 10.
While Henry affects Bamas run game Christian makes Stanfords offense and he does the same for Standfords kick and punt return game. Charles Woodson won the heisman over Payton because he could do so many things to affect the game and was the BEST player not just CB.

Both football players. Plus you guys are comparing Christian to Henry. Isn't it possible Henry's a better RB but Christians just as good or just a notch below as a football player when you add his pass catching and kick/punt returns ? I'm not saying he needs to win the award but it's ridiculous to say he doesn't deserve some votes and to be in NY.
