How does that factor in when both players are offensive players? Or when the PAC defenses played so poorly the offensive stats were padded. Putting up solid numbers in a conference that plays solid defense is more impressive imo i'll run those stats tomorrow tho
It doesn't at all. When stats slap you in the face, spew out bull shit and hope it sticks?

And this has what to do with my post?
You said i was putting it all on one game that was your answer. Its the most level comparison you can make. Both the first game of the season, both big teams almost identical carries. McCaffery only faced 1 top 25 defense as compared to the 4 Henry face so theres not the option to compare more games. Reggie bush also performed at a higher level than McCaffery vs top 25 defenses. So I guess I'm supposed tho ask why you think McCaffery is more deserving of the heisman than Henry?

Because he can catch the ball out of the backfield and score, did you see those receptions for TD's this year, When the other team stacks the box, he, unlike Henry can coast out to catch and run. @theboardref specifically stated that the SEC was built to stop the run and the PAC to stop the pas, so if if the pass is the priority you have cannot ignore his receiving yards and TD's.

And to your point a while back CMac averaged 4.5 YAC in the first 5 games, my source for that quit posting but cited ESPN stats and info.

If the heisman is based on opinions the award has lost its mystique and importance IMO. Im trying to keep this as black and white as possible while factoring in all the statistical variables possible;e. Im going to run more numbers in a bit. Im looking for yards after contact, avgs yards after contact by conferences and total offense to cross reference everything

Ok, add 27 yards receiving to the only game against a top 25 defense, so still under 100 yards on the day. Soooooo now what?

This is like arguing with an evangelical, you have know they will not change their mind, but keep banging your head into the wall. Goodnight all. I disagree with every premise that has been stated by the anit-Cmac crew, I have tried to state my case, but again they rely on spurious info.

Next time maybe put up yards in the biggest games of the year instead of padding stats against the worst teams, goodnight.

You did put it all on one game. I said that Henry will win the Heisman, but I think McCaffrey is a better player. He's better because he can hurt you in more ways than Henry can.

To use a USC example: McCaffrey is Reggie Bush, Henry is Lendale White. Lendale was a great back, but Reggie could hurt you in more ways than Lendale could.

Also, how many top 25 defenses did Reggie face? I'll bet it wasn't a lot.

Compare Henry's receiving yards for the season to CMac's who has more? In a conference you stated, yes you stated, was built to stop the pass. So shouldn't he have had next to no receiving yards then, no matter the rank of the overall D?

Im not trying to knock McCaffery but i was seriously unimpressed with the PAC defenses. Especially USC. But when your watching defenders blow tackles that should have gone for losses or stopped short. Breaking for first downs or going the distance. Guys running free after 4-5 blown tackles.Defenses not stacking the box or completely out of position. Its not something you forget. Not just stanford SC did it all year including a 19 yard TD run on 4th down that should have been stopped in the backfield. This is why I'm weary with the stats and PAC defenses. The other stats do stand out but I'm just trying to be objective

What is the biggest game of the year, define that? In the CCG he put up numbers 5th all time in a single game. Not counting his passing TD. The kid averaged, averaged,2 40+ yards per game.

The Heisman has always been based on opinions. That's part of the problem and why I do agree with boardref that it's a bullshit award. If statistical variable, etc. were used, the list of past winners would look very different. It's why there is so much debate over it every year.

For me, I prefer guys like McCaffrey, Adoree, etc. Guys that can hurt an opponent in multiple ways. Others prefer quarterbacks. Some prefer players like Henry who are great, old school, smashmouth running backs. It all comes down to opinion and popularity.

Against the best defenses of the season. Henry put on a field day, and McCaffery whimpered all the way home with his tail tucked between his legs. Only one defense on Stanford's conference schedule ranked better than 30 in any of the categories listed. After that, the next best defenses were USC with: 57 in scoring, 70 in total, 75 in rushing; Colorado with: 71 in scoring, 87 in total, 99 in rushing; and Washington State: 82 in scoring, 93 in total, 101 in rushing.

I have asked you before, where did the offenses Henry faced rank, do you think that matters?

As A whole i have Henry well in the lead. And I had no choice but to use one game as a focal point when comparing defenses. McCaffery has only played one game against top defenses. As a whole the comparison becomes very lop sided . I cant see awarding a heisman based on their style of play. I have to look at the full resume and their competition. When you break it down it leans heavy towards henry. And he has hurt many teams in several ways. Does coker have the season he has had if henry doesn't open up the passing game? Henry has played a major role for Alabama and may very well continue to do so in their quest for a natty. Im not sold on McCaffery for a lot of reasons. I'll run more stats tho

Yea because offense matters when playing another teams defense because of... reasons?

USCs defense was garbage tho i remember shaking my head as they refused to stack the box and let him run thriough wide open gaps.Leaving him wide open with busted coverage by our linebackers and DBs And break free after failing to wrap and follow through tackles. Im thankful wilcox is gone. talent is useless when you have bad coaching
