Did any of your household items survive the day, Pix?

Yeah...Just hit a pillow or two. However, I have a lovely tension headache to constantly remind me of the events that transpired today. *sigh* It's okay. I'm slowly getting over it. Just the initial shock is tough to handle. Now I just want the season to start. All the fun parts of the offseason are over. I need hockey really bad.

I was actually hoping Jagr would land in Montreal, but now Brooks Orpik gets six cracks at him next season. :)

Ah, silver linings...

I loved the Sullivan signing, though.

Agreed. I think I posted about him yesterday...or the day before. Off to search!

If he stays healthy, Sullivan should pot 20 or more goals this season. I think we finally have 4 wingers capable of scoring 20. In fact, I think we have five. Kunitz and Neal are givens, of course, then Dupuis, Sullivan, and Kennedy can all score 20. It'd be nice to get 80 goals from 4 consistent top-6 wingers.

I think Shero played it smart, honestly. They didn't need to do anything groundbreaking.

And, I mean, at least JagrBomb is staying in the great state of Pennsylvania. Am I right?

You know that second sentence means nothing :P And I agree, I'm just mad that he went to Philly. It really felt like a slap to the face. It shouldn't have, but it felt personal I guess. Shero played today very well. The Pens basically had the best offseason acquisitions ever. Sidney Crosby and Evegeni Malkin (God willing) will be starting the season with us. That's the best acquisition that could be made. He kept certain pieces, and this team didn't need much tweaking. I love the Sully pick up, because if healthy, he could be a great winger and PP specialist. ALSO, he's a GOOD LOCKERROOM PRESENCE. The Jagr thing, though I doubt it, could become an issue. Steve Sullivan won't.

Exactly. It's weird to me when I see people saying we're not having a good offseason. Our team took Tampa to seven games without Sid and Geno...exactly what do we need to do besides look at the PP?

There's a lot of uneducated Pens fans out there. There were some freaking out, and I quote, "OMG! If Talbot and Rupp are gone who the heck do we have left!" Seriously? Really? Do you KNOW what the term role player means? They were just fan favorites so people are freaking out. We already had the best offseason of any team out there. We re-acquired Sidney Crosby and Evegeni Malkin. Can't beat that. People are forgetting about James Neal too...we got him to play top line minutes with Sid or Geno, more likely Sid, and we've yet to see that. This could be a great season. GREAT season...as long as everyone stays relatively healthy.

I see a lot of fans of other teams over-valuing some of these role players and acting surprised some of them are leaving. We knew going into this thing we weren't keeping them all. Hell, with Jeffery/Letestu in the mix, we don't even have space.

Not surprised to see Rupp or Talbot go (though obv wasn't expecting Max to the FLYERS). Happily surprised we kept Asham.

I'm thrilled we kept Asham. In the right situation, he's BETTER than those two. I mean that. I like him a lot.

I agree. He was awesome for us in the playoffs, and even showed some chemistry with Geno during his limited time with him during the regular season. Kinda like Dupuis in a way with his versatility, but brings the added toughness. Great signing and I honestly didn't see us keeping him.

I was up for signing Talbot for a million or so based on what he brings in the playoffs alone, but would rather have Ash. And for less? Thanks, I'm in.
