Had to vote Players to even it up at 7-7. I'm beyond the point of caring much though.

Have the players submitted a proposal including how they will make it work? The owners did.

Chances of starting July 4 weekend are dwindling, if not completely lost now.

What a colossally blown opportunity.

In these negotiations,

Whose side are you on??

Only gonna be 2 options... I don't want wishy washy answers nor the majority of people to answer stupidly

I just voted...owners and just tipped the scales to the owners.

90% of the time in Player/Owner squabbles...I'm with the players.

This one...the owners should be held the March agreement of prorated salaries. But it's their league...if they want to play a 50 game season under this pandemic circumstance...they should be able to do it. Opening books to prove they're losing money is not something they need to do for a one season adjustment...I would view this different if they are going for a total restructure and go with a cap.

Players wanted a 114 game season solely to max out on the "pro rated" money. Can't blame them for wanting to make as much as possible, but imo owners should decide the length of this adjusted season, not players.

The owners have to make sure all the work gets done.

Yep...essentially they will have to go thru another spring training of sorts.

In all sports effected by the pandemic...it's really about getting your brand back to the market this year. MLB had a great opportunity for a July 4th start and they seem to be rinsing it down the drain. If they blow off 2020 MLB will be firmly back in the image rebuilding business.

I take no side so I didn't vote. They're both fucked.

Not sure I even care anymore.

So players are being offered 75% of their salaries to play less than half the games?

There really should not be an issue with this.

Basically its the same as 50 games at full prorated pay or 82 games at sliding scale. In the end, the finances are the same for the owners, just the number of games are different.

Essentially every offer made by mlb is a third of their pay. It’s just changing the looks of it. This offer won’t be accepted. Fuck this petty shit between the two

Players. They just want a pro rata share of their contracts.

the owners want the players to subsidize the losses with no access to the gains that occur every other year.

This is the risk the owners take. The players have contracts. This is how the balance of labor and capital work.
