POLL Who will win the NFC East?

Wait... You think the Skins will have the best D in the East? No way no how. That is going to Philly easily. Philly has the best DIne in the east, either the best or 2nd best LBer core with Dallas and the best Safety tandem in the east. We are last at CB though. Hicks is an emerging star at LBer. Kendricks is good, Cox is the best defensive player in the division, Curry got a huge contract but wasn't a 3-4 DE and now we are in the 4-3. The D was at such a huge disadvantage in Chips system but Philly's D will be in the later end of the top 10 . Problem is our O will be by far the worst in the east. Dallas, NYand the Skins are much better balanced but Philly will have the best D easily.

40 more points on the year? IF the 20 more turnovers produce points for the team then I take the turnovers. Any successful defense gets turnovers. Denver has a lot of defensive scores last year.

Eagles do not have a better dline than the Giants right now. Besides Cox its just average at best. I cant see how they do anything this year.

And they held teams to very low points. If a defense gets 2 to 3 turnovers every game, but can't get off the field otherwise they will be a bad D.

But if those 2 or 3 turnovers per game become TD's you cant fault a defense for that. That is why everything must be evaluated when determining if a defense is good or not. Not just points.

So if they get one score a game, but they give up 25+ they are a good D?

Personally if my D gets no turnovers but forces punts all day and keep teams around 15 points that's my good D.

True but sometimes a defense will give up 40 points then the next week they will give up 10. Its fluctuates. The Redskins gave up an average of 25 pts per game and still got to the playoffs. Their defense wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. If you add a DTD every week it keeps you in games.

The redskins went to the playoffs because of the piss poor play of the other three teams.

Wrong. They beat an Eagles team that beat the Pats at Foxboro. They beat a Buffalo team that was very much in the playoff hunt before the Skins beat them to eliminate them from the playoffs. I think the East was better than the AFC South last year. Giants and Eagles were better than the Jags and Colts last year.
