Was a HR away from my Royals bet becoming reality...

So why not bet on the Chiefs, gambler's fallacy my butt.

 Everyone has the same record at this point. With Free Agency and the draft just around the corner, almost anything is possible.

NFL has some strange teams rise and fall every year, so anything is possible, really. Seattle went from completely irrelevant via mediocrity to potential dynasty in almost nothing flat.

I think Marshawn leaves Seattle. Both him and Suh go to Oakland.

Not an option.... he's under contract for next year.... seattle has offered an extended contract.

So Lynchs options are A: Retire,,,, B: Sign the extension for a boat load of money..... I guess he could play out the string on his current deal too...

No way he plays in any other uniform next year.

Dude...between 2002-2011, Seattle was 81-79. I'm pretty sure that's the mediocrity he was referring to.

This is called sophistry. It sounds like a nice jab, but it's really a giant slap into the face to pass 7-9 teams and an obviously declining Hasselbeck as anything more than mediocre. The drafts since Schneider and Carroll have arrived is impressive. Going forward, the Hawks will be a perennial contender anyways barring something unforseen.

There was most certainly a period after the first Hawks SB where they declined significantly before the current regime.

And if winning the vaunted NFC west of the 2000s is all it took for the NFCCG or Lombardi you would have a point. The NFC was a weak division for many of those years, basically someone had to go to the playoffs from that division. Outside of the 3 SB years, it was divisional round exit or earlier.

I will say 3 SB trips in less than 10 years is impressive but I would not say the seahawks were amazing. They did hit a rough patch from 2006 to 2011 in which they went 42-54. Not exactly a stellar record.

The heads that would explode if Eli has 3 rings...

The first would be Peyton's. Can you imagine the size of the explosion?

LOL OTHER THEN 3 SB trips, it was divisional round exit or earlier.......There are probably only what 4 or 5 teams that wouldn't trade Seattles history from 2000 forward.

And the statement I was talking about was irrelevant via mediocrity Winning divisions and making playoffs, and superbowls isn't mediocrity

But this isn't the place for this argument, back to who wins the superbowl next yr

You seem to be confused. 2 of those 3 SB trips are included in what he termed "potential dynasty". From 2002-2011, it's hard to get more mediocre than what the Seahawks were. I mean...they could have been 80-80 instead of 81-79, so I guess you can argue that.

Will there be a Manning in the future that can combine regular season Peyton with postseason Eli???

I think Brady is benched by the bye week after the Pats' one-dimensional offense with him under center is exposed and an effective QB takes them to the promised land. BB and that defense are too good.

he'll lead the league in INT's. Can you just give us Locker and we can be done with it. :L

Winning a division does not mean your team is good, it means that it is the least smelly turd. If you ignore the last two season, mediocre fits the seahwaks and most teams over the same span. Prior to Manning the broncos were mediocre.

Will there be a Manning in the future that can combine regular season Peyton with postseason Eli???

If that player ever exists all GOAT arguments become irrelevant as well as other teams competing for the length of his career.

As for the topic of the thread I picked the broncos because of the homer in me but I can see the seahawks or packers having a go at it. After the FA and draft I will need to reevaluate.

I'm feeling confident in the field for this pick.
