I mean the guy has/will go to probably 8 or 9 super bowls. ESPN stated he is more iconic than Jordan

Marino's teams were poorly constructed, not his fault. Mediocre running games and defenses (and often, that was being kind).

How many other QBs on this list were playing in the Super Bowl in their rookie season (as the full season starter at QB)?

Agree about Marino, those defenses were anywhere from bad to awful and they had a crappy running game. Marino had to carry that team all too often and can't win a Super Bowl with that kind of defense. The 1984 49er team was overall much better than that Miami team, especially on defense. The 49er defenses those years weren't the level of NY Giants or Chicago Bears but they were pretty good

I believe Montana had a quote like that in the huddle before the John Taylor drive against the Bengals
Was that the same huddle that he pointed out John Candy in the stands?

5 in 7 years, actually. Bart Starr played his entire career prior to the rule changes of 1978 yet still has the highest playoff passer rating ever. 9-1 playoff record. He gets my vote.

This is why I believe he is the GOAT. He played in an era where the defense had the rules advantage but still excelled.

The only gripe I have with Marino is he insisted his OL concentrated almost solely on pass protection.
I think he was part of the reason they couldn't run for shit.

Marino is the most talented.

Very one-dimensional. Couldn't do anything with his legs.

Great arm-talent. Ran like a slug.

I am being kinda mean to Marino today. Maybe I should have had more coffee.
