I know the Cubs are not all that interested in Schierholtz, as they have been sitting him more than playing him in the past 2 weeks.
Have they been facing a lot of lefties lately? If so, that's probably why.

Yahoo Sports reporting that the trade talks with the Rangers have hit a snag and the Cubs are looking for an alternative trade partner.
And the dance continues!
I saw the medical info was exchanged on the 6 players involved and something came up with one of the players not named Garza. They figuring it out. He'll be
gone by Monday.
Apparently the Cubs offered Garza to the Indians, but they said you have to give us Lonnie Chisenhall (Indians No 1 pick in 2008). The Indians said, "No thank you."
Cleveland Indians felt Lonnie Chisenhall was too high a price for Matt Garza: MLB insider | cleveland.com
I wonder who will turn out to be the better ballplayer in the majors, Chisenhall or Olt? Whoever ends up with Garza better know what they're doing if he turns out to be a two and a half month rental...
Olt?
But I wouldn't give up a 24 yr old with potential to get a veteran that could or couldn't work out for possibly 50 games or 10 starts. The Indians made the right move for sure.
FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal report that the Athletics are one of the teams that Cubs are talking to about Matt Garza.
The A's hadn't been mentioned previously as a possible contender in the Garza sweepstakes, but that's evidently changed. The Cubs and Rangers hit a snag in their talks, but they're probably still the favorites to land the righty. The Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Cardinals and Indians have also expressed interest in Garza.
