Since 2006 he is on his 3rd team and will be 4th team in 7 years.

Throw in a few injuries, and some up and down starts and I would be leery.

He reminds me a lot of Edwin Jackson with a little better stuff.

I have never heard he is a locker room problem but for a guy with sub 4 era to be going onto his 4th team in 7 years raises some questions.

The multiple teams wouldn't concern me at all. He's been a victim of circumstance and wanted to stay with the Cubs.

Lee got traded around quite a bit too. Obviously I'm not saying garza is on the same level as Lee, but I'm just not buying that argument.

He's had success in the AL east and he's far better than Jackson. That's not even debatable. Injury history is a bit of a concern, but he's healthy now and he's throwing the ball as well as ever.

I am not calling him a bad pitcher but to ignore the questions is to waste prospects unless you are sure he is the real deal.

If I was a GM a lot would hinge on what I had to give up and wanted in return. A chance at the playoffs and a rotation guy for next year or just playoffs?

A guy with Garza's talent unable to find a home?

I think if Edwin Jackson stayed in Detroit he would be a pretty solid #4. I give you Garza is the better pitcher but Jackson has moved around as well and that surprises me for a guy that should be able to hold down the 3-4 slot in the rotation.

I think the Rays and Twins are two of the better run clubs when it comes to talent. You could be right that he is the victim of circumstances. But for me I would not ignore the fact....and again guys that get paid a hell of a lot of money to do that probably are.

I am just looking at it from a fans prospective.

How far-fetched do you think Soriano is?

Not far fetched at all. A lot depends on salary. I'm hoping for Schierholtz.

I would check how both have done in the last 30 days before I got too excited about Schierholtz over Soriano. Besides, if I am Texas, I would love to have him as my D.H, with that yard being pretty well suited for Soriano's power.

Again, as it has been stated, a lot of contact would need to be eaten for this to any kind of close to reality.

Unless the Cubs are willing to eat about 2/3 of that salary better options are out there than Soriano.

It's to bad I liked Soriano when he was with the Yankees. He has been one long bad contract for the Cubs.

I seriously doubt that the Rangers are going to overlook anything valid in their decision to deal for Garza.

I'm still curious why someone like the A's hasn't tried to middle the deal and up the anty.

I could see the A's forcing the Rangers to buy high. I can't remember the A's giving up talent at the trade deadline. I am sure they have I just can't remember.

I have to give the A's credit they keep finding solid prospects and staying relevant. I thought the Angels would have run away with the west. So much for my baseball knowledge

We tried to tell people the angels were going nowhere fast, but all people wanted to focus on was the flashy signings b

Unless I am wrong, the A's dont't really have any money to be big spenders on anyone. And, in fact, if they had money, REAL money, they would be better off paying off the Giants, so they could then move to San Jose.

That would give them a large revenue boost, which would then allow them to spend on players, likely sooner than later.

My guess is theos last attempt to squeeze a little more from the rangers. I rarely but into the "mystery team".

Would be hilarious if the Rangers walked away from the table right now.

"Want to play that game, Theo? Okay, thanks for your time. Hope it works out for you."

Would be priceless.

That's what JD did with towers on Upton this winter and he ended up taking a lesser package from Atlanta.

Hey, you think the Pirates might be the "Mystery Team"?

Um....., no. Why? Are they ever?

All kidding aside, you almost never hear of trades between division rivals mid-season.

Well, they're known to be interested in Schierholtz and might be looking to bolster their starting staff. And I doubt Theo, at least, cares about rivalries at this moment.

I know the Cubs are not all that interested in Schierholtz, as they have been sitting him more than playing him in the past 2 weeks.
