Much prefer Peavy over Garza is Peavy is healthy. Peavy has a extra year if club control.

I agree. He was a very good pitcher last year (219 IP in 32 starts, 1.10 WHIP, 128 ERA+, 3.96 K/BB). The problem is, Peavy is very injury prone. Last year was his first year with 20+ starts since '08 (when he made 27).

Garza isn't really an upgrade in the A's rotation

I think it's all Theo playin' mind games anyway. It actually must be kinda fun...except for the fact that your reputation and livelihood depends on it. :)

Yep. Thing is Texas wont play games and get into a bidding war. He'll walk away just like he did from Upton.

The Cubs have have worked to draw competing offers into the Garza bidding in order to create alternatives to Texas, tweets ESPN's Buster Olney.

Most of these reports say he will be gone by his next start and then it's 2 weeks later lol. Then they say oh he makes his start next time. Few hours later he's gone. You just don't know what will happen lol:L

Wow, I'm shocked. Obviously Theo is asking for the kitchen sink.

They are saying it's Mike Olt, CJ Edwards and a third player from the Rangers.

Good deal, Rangers fans?

Third player is Grimm and a player to be named later. Probably an overpayment, but Texas needs pitching badly. I'm guessing Texas is confident they can extend garza. Olt is blocked by Beltre, and a question mark anyways, Edwards is probably a back end of the rotation pitcher, same as Grimm. The player to be named will be interesting.

Now they need a bat really badly.

C.J. Edwards' stats are fun to look at. 0 home runs allowed in 160.1 IP. Also has a sub-1 WHIP and K/9 over 11.

In Low A yes. Grimm was also dominant in the minors and he's been tagged pretty badly since mid may in the bigs.
