Texas, Indians, Red Sox, Cards according to Jon Heyman. If he goes to the Cards, I'll never forgive Theo. If he does that, it's absolute proof that they don't intend to compete next season and they'd better be offering allot more than the other teams.

What if he deals him to the cards then he doesn't sign with STL in the offseason? Could be genius by Theo.

Maybe he will deal him to the Cards get the prospects then come straight back to the Cubs in the offseason. Wouldn't be a bad move then IMO.

Tribe needs a big arm if theyre gonna contend, but I cant see it happening with Garza. We just dont have the payroll to compete (or the prospects to deal)

Hopefully they can get him, but unlikely.

rumor mill has the sox going after Hernandez .. not sure how accurate that is..

Hernandez just inked a long term deal with Seattle. I doubt it. Nonetheless, this is a thread about Garza.

Huh? I haven't heard anything about the Sox and Felix. Nothing on Twitter, MLBTR, etc. Nada.

If the Sox get Garza, they better keep him far away from Dempster...what he has may be contagious.

Wow, Garza to the Sox allows them to replace their weakest link with a sub-3 ERA pitcher who's comfortable in the division. That would make them clear front-runners in the AL.

If he doesn't go to LA or Pittsburgh, I hope he goes to the AL. Surely this guy would love to go to LA?

Garza's never had a sub-3 ERA.

Even if the Sox do get him, I still think the Tigers are a more talented team.

Bowden hears there's an 80 percent chance that Matt Garza will be traded before his next scheduled start (Monday or Tuesday of next week). The Rangers, Red Sox and Diamondbacks are still involved, He describes the D-backs as "dark horses," adding that their odds in the Garza sweepstakes would increase if they were willing to part with left-hander David Holmberg.

More here...

So Olney is reporting that Texas is "close" to getting Garza. You guys hearing anything locally?

One of our posters who works with a Texas scout says what's being reported is true. We're close, really close.

Okay, well I had a shortlist of NL Teams I want him to go to. If he's not going there, I'm satisfied with him going to the AL West where he can hopefully beat up on the Angels and knock them out of contention.

I wish he had gone to either the Pirates or Dodgers.
