One of our posters who works with a Texas scout says what's being reported is true. We're close, really close.
Heard the same thing today. Here in Cleveland

Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee reports that a trade sending Matt Garza to the Rangers is "99 percent done."
Davidson says that there are six players involved and that the two clubs are going over medical records now. It looks like Mike Olt and C.J. Edwards are definitely part of the package, and the Cubs seem to prefer Neil Ramirez to Luke Jackson. That still leaves two additional players, though. It's possible the Rangers might ask the Cubs to throw in a secondary piece in the deal. Jul 19 - 2:34 PM

How far-fetched do you think Soriano is?
That Texas is close or Cleveland is close.
Not far fetched at all. A lot depends on salary. I'm hoping for Schierholtz.
The Indians lost minor league depth in pitching when they traded for Jimenez and I see Theo wanting top pitching prospects for Garza.
Texas has some depth but I see Theo wanting to rake a team over the coals for Garza.
Schierholtz would be the better grab, but it just seems that with Berkman always hurt, Soriano at DH and part-time OF is a good fit. Gonna be interesting to see.

Agree that Jimenez largely sucks, but White & Pomerantz aint exactly blowing batters away either
But they were top prospects.
Theo will get a bidding war and since it's early teams and are still trying to figure out if they are buyers or sellers Theo will capitalize. The only other guy was Nolasco.
I agree I would avoid Garza as he has red flags but the Indians and Rangers are in tight races against teams that have starting pitching.
Since 2006 he is on his 3rd team and will be 4th team in 7 years.
Throw in a few injuries, and some up and down starts and I would be leery.
He reminds me a lot of Edwin Jackson with a little better stuff.
I have never heard he is a locker room problem but for a guy with sub 4 era to be going onto his 4th team in 7 years raises some questions.
They say its 99% done with Texas. Last year we wanted Olt for Dempster, they gave us Villanueva. Now Olt is hitting .208 and he is the key to the deal? Could be 5 or 6 players, there is talk of Soriano and his pay going with Garza to get back 4 prospects.
