Eh, be wary of hiring alums as your HC. It turns your alums/fans on each other.

I don't think he is a big enough name for Tennessee. I think Tennessee final lands a "big fish" for their next coach. (by "big fish" I'm thinking of a guy with a big resume)

Pretty sure LSU is out. They can't even afford to pay him $10 an hour. ASU would be a good landing spot since he is so familiar with that conference. I would like to see him land in Tempe once Graham gets fired mid season.

What about UCLA? They would be my 2nd pick behind Tennessee.

He's respected and known on the left coast for recruiting purposes.

Mora is on the short leash. UCLA lost to Memphis who UCF completely destroyed (40-13). Mora makes $3.5 mil/yr.

LSU Atheletics != the government of Lousiana.

LSU brings in big profits off football.

But LSU needs a new AD before they need anything else, so they are out.

I thought I read/heard that the athletic department is actually helping out the school financially already. Maybe one of our Tiger peeps can give us an update (@TigerBait1971 )?

LSU football delivers millions of dollars and gives a healthy chunk to the university.

Our problem is politics. Our shitty governor will make it a perception issue just like what kept Miles being fired at the end of 2015.

The state is broke and the university isn't doing well, but the athletic department is a flush money making machine.

Look inside LSU athletics shows TAF gave nearly $12M to athletic department in 2014, women's basketball, others losing millions

Football is king at LSU.

That’s now backed up by financial details in an audit of the Tigers’ athletic department released this week.

LSU made more than $57 million on football in the 2014-15 academic year, and the Tiger Athletic Foundation donated nearly $12 million to the athletic department in 2014, according to the audit obtained by The Advocate.

Audit Report Shows LSU Football Well in the Black

The Tigers Athletic Foundation, a nonprofit corporation supporting LSU athletics, contributed more than $8 million to the athletic department for operating expenses in 2015-16, down $6 million from 2014-15. However, TAF gave another $14 million for LSU’s new tennis complex.

Budget Update

2/22/2017

Dear LSU Community,

It is my pleasure to share the news that the 2017 Special Session ended today with zero cuts to higher education. While our state leaders debated various options to close Louisiana’s $304 million budget gap, they all agreed that higher education should be protected, and that leaves our university well-poised for the future.

After much discussion, legislators came to a deal that closed the current year budget shortfall through a combination of Rainy Day Funds and cuts to state spending.

We are very grateful to the Governor and our legislators for protecting their investments in colleges and universities and for the political courage to prioritize higher education. If you have an opportunity, please thank them for their support of LSU and higher education.

The Regular Session begins April 10. It will be a “fiscal” session, meaning legislators will have to focus primarily on tax and budget bills. Professor James Richardson and LSU Public Administration alumna Kimberly Robinson co-chaired a tax reform commission that held numerous hearings during the fall. Tax and fiscal reform is a very difficult endeavor, and we will keep you informed as those efforts begin to unfold.

Sincerely,

F. King Alexander
LSU President

The LSU president is happy.

The government is screwing over someone else instead of LSU.

Tuition Hikes like all schools are doing

2016 4.95%

LSU's 2016-17 undergrads will see 4.95 % tuition increase

2017

Even better. This isn't tuition increase but FEES

All LSU students pay a $4 per credit hour athletic department FEE.

That’s on top of $1,384.70 currently charged, meaning students enrolled to take 15 credit hours will have to pay $1,655 in fees, according to LSU fee schedules. And none of those fees are covered by TOPS.

Increased LSU student fees approved by Board of Supervisors, not covered by TOPS

I looked at the salaries of our largest public Universities since they are state employees and that information is public.

Over 1,000 professors, I stopped counting once I hit 1000, make more money than my wife and I.

Yet, they want donations. Guess what I say? Eat me.

The college kids, 80% of them will work in the service industry just so the professors can live like kings.

It's possible. Alabama gives money to the university from time to time.

LSU has the financial resources to make a good hire. But, nobody outside a coach like Oregeron has any desire to coach there with their current AD, who is a joke and everyone knows it.

I posted this is another thread, but this is worth the 45 minute listen. You can skip about half of it if you don't want to hear about pre-Saban or the Saban years. At the end is where you get a great explanation of how bad Joe Alleva is as it talks about recent years.

Who's Washington going to hire after Peteresen goes to the NFL?

Of all of the possible things that could happen in Petersen's career, that is the least likely. Just ask him.

He could end up at Nebraska although I don't know the details on Riley's buyout clause.
The details are Nebraska has enough money to pay the buyout on the last coach the last AD, Riley if necessary and still pay more for Frost if they decide they want him.
Me, I hope he stays with USF one more year and grows those Florida connections.

Lots of teams out there looking for HC's at the end of this season. I'm guessing he's on at least a few program's list.

No way imo. Too many money rich P5 teams looking for a coach after this season.
Than you don't know Frost. He will want to finish what he started at UCF before he moves on.
