Where would you rate 80s music

Great album The Wall, but they instigated disco music, as can be clearly heard in this song:

Even Reggae music. It all fell into a melting pot to give birth to disco.

Sure, it was called disco and a lot of 70s rock bands were trying to cash in on it...some like the Stones were more successful than others and were more funk than disco (IMO). Kiss came off as disco...yechh.

Without a doubt 80’s music was/is the best music ever. Slight edge over 70’s disco.

Sure, it was called disco and a lot of 70s rock bands were trying to cash in on it...some like the Stones were more successful than others and were more funk than disco (IMO). Kiss came off as disco...yechh.

That was seen as a blatant sell out by Kiss. I grew out Kiss by 6th grade but they lost a lot of fans with the disco song. Gene Simmons would have put out a harmonica album if he thought it would generate millions in sales.

I was the biggest Def Leppard fan in high school but they sold out after the 2nd album. I could tolerate Pyromania but not Hysteria

I'm only 40 but I actually enjoy listening to Disco music over Rap or hip Hop.

What do you mean by sold out?

They abandoned heavy metal and went soft with Hysteria, just to top sales. They then denied being a heavy metal band.
