Sure, it was called disco and a lot of 70s rock bands were trying to cash in on it...some like the Stones were more successful than others and were more funk than disco (IMO). Kiss came off as disco...yechh.
I'm only 40 but I actually enjoy listening to Disco music over Rap or hip Hop.That was seen as a blatant sell out by Kiss. I grew out Kiss by 6th grade but they lost a lot of fans with the disco song. Gene Simmons would have put out a harmonica album if he thought it would generate millions in sales.
What do you mean by sold out?
