Pretty much everyone had the Cavs winning this series before it began then, after 2 games everyone wanted to change the narrative to Boston being the 'much better team' and LeBron having no chance, its bullshit. They were the favorites going in and should win this series.

LOL, I'm not even going to dignify that asinine statement about Kyrie and Gordon not being their best players, come one now, stop being ridiculous.

So stating facts about LeBron's career means I'm trying to diminish him? I already said he's the second best I've ever seen but if you wanna compare him to Jordan he can't have any stains like 2011 on his resume.

Everyone had the Cavs winning because LeBron has been to 7 straight Finals and the Cavs have LeBron. He is the only reason this series is even competitive. Remove LeBron from the Cavs and they are in lottery for sure. With him, they are the "favorite" to advance to the Finals.

Again though, and for the last time, whether they are favored or not, a loss does not diminish LeBron in any way. He has done nothing but further bolster his resume this post season regardless of when his team eventually loses. And they will lose. If not to the Celtics, then in the Finals. Because they aren't very good beyond LeBron.

Completely agree. It's also why you have to look at stats relative to their era.

Yep, the season Wilt averaged 50, isn't happening today, even if Wilt had the same advances available to him as today's players.

Part of the reason it was able to happen back then is because you didn't necessarily have the absolute best players. There was often more money to be made in other jobs.

I actually heard a great description for what happens if the Cavs lose to the Celtics.

It doesn't diminish as far as the GOAT discussion, but it doesn't help either. Basically, if the Cavs lose this series, it's not like Lebron suddenly drops from 2nd to 5th or from 4th to 7th or something in the GOAT rankings.

But it doesn't help him as far as moving up either.

Lebron spends more on training than any player made in the NBA in the 60s, even adjusted for inflation.

It's simple. The Celtics were underrated again like they were underrated going into the Sixers series. Now that we're three games into the Cavs series, we have seen with our own eyes that they're the better team.

Celtics better? I don't think the verdict is really in yet.

The Cavs also just came off an impressive sweep of the #1 seeded Raptors too and were rolling into the Boston series as the clear favorites against an injured opponent but now all of a sudden the Cavs are this horrible team that shouldn't be expected to beat the Celtics who are missing their two best players. LOL. You need to stop with this. You just wanna make him an underdog so you can give him all this credit if he somehow overcomes the 'mighty unbeatable Celtics', it's so obvious but no matter how much you wanna change the narrative, the fact is he is supposed to win this series and it will be knock against him if he doesn't.

Imagine Jordan losing as the favorite to the Knicks who were missing Ewing and Oakley....it would never happen. LeBron has no business losing to this Celtics team, losing to GS is a different animal, he is clearly out matched there but he should be able to get past Boston.

Jordan never played on a team like this after his first few years in the league. That is unless you want to count his Wizards years.

You need to stop. It is an apples to oranges comparison and you know it. The Knicks would never have advanced to the conference Finals without Ewing and Oakley either. You neglect the fact that this Celtics team got here without those guys.

Honestly, I am not even sure they are much better with them. Hayward + Kyrie means less minutes for Rozier, Smart, Tatum and Brown. Not so sure that is a good thing.

Again, you are going out of your way here. LeBron has been fantastic in 2 of 3 games this series. 1 of those he likely sustained a concussion midway through. If he plays as he has in games 2 and 3 and the Cavs lose, only a fool would argue it diminishes his legacy.

LOL @ the Celtics not being better with Kyrie and Gordon, you really can't help yourself can you? That's an asinine thing to say. You're telling me they wouldn't be better with a starting lineup of Kyrie, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, and Horford? LOL, you really do hate Kyrie don't you?

The fact that the Celtics made it this far without their two best players shows you just how weak the East really was this year. They really had no business beating Philly and shouldn't beat the Cavs either.

I'm not going out of my way to knock LeBron. It's just that if you are going to compare him to the greatest player of all time then he needs to be judged on a higher standard. I don't think its asking for too much to expect LeBron to get past the Celtics. No, this wouldn't be a major stain on his career it would just make it the 4th time in his career he lost a playoff series as the favorite which is not exactly a good thing.

And if playing well and losing is ok to you then why knock Jordan for doing the same thing? All I hear from LeBron fanboys like you is how Jordan lost to the Pistons or Celtics despite being clearly the best player on the floor and how that was and indictment against him. (and Jordan was playing against all time great teams with hall of famers, not a Celtic team without 2 of its stars) But, now that LeBron is experiencing the same thing (against lesser competition), all of a sudden its not a bad thing, instead, its something he should be given credit for, its a joke. You can't have it both ways.

How many times did Jordan get to the finals without Scottie Pippen?

The Cavs also should have lost to the Pacers in the 1st round. The Rapors completely rolled over when they lost Game 1 the way they did.

He most certainly can handle himself. He's one of the most knowledgeable and even handed posters here.

You, otoh, are just a Jordan fanboy that hates whenever someone says anything positive about James.
