I currently have him switching places between 4th and 5th.

If he wins a title with the Cavs this year or moves to another team and wins one there as a lead player then yeah hes probably solidified himself as #2

Does that include Magic over LeBron?

Magic and Kareem

Okay so then why does Magic deserve it? There's a million reasons why LeBron should be considered better than Magic. Really the only thing is that Magic has more titles.

You've clearly never seen Magic play outside of YouTube clips.

What he did for the game was phenomenal. How many rookie point guards would play the 5 and win the team a title?

Off the top of my head, Barkley had him 6th or 7th. Allen Iverson had Kobe ahead of him too.

Iverson said Lebron was 4th all time. (and the best player today) This was about 1 year ago.

Magic's the best PG ever. He (along w/ Bird) changed the NBA for the better forever. Are those good enough reasons? I personally have him ranked # 2 behind MJ. And keep in mind I don't like the Lakers. I have LeBron ranked # 4.

Lebron didn't play the 5, nor was a rookie, but he did lead his shitty ass team in 07 to the Finals when he would have been a senior in college. So roughly the same age, and didn't play with 2 HOF in their primes(even though Kareem didn't play game 6). And that was an all-time great performance by Magic no denying that.

And Lebron IMO, is basically a better version of them.

Reasonable....imo

The stats favor LeBron.

But, numbers don't always tell the whole story.

LeBron's basketball IQ is incredible. He's the best all around player I have ever watched. Although trust me there are plenty of people that would.

Magic was doing this in the 80s. Before the advancement of modern technology and medicine. He also had a shortened career.

What LeBron is doing now, especially at his age is phenomenal but I doubt he'd still be playing at this level late in his career in the 80s

First ten years says....Yeah.

Bron had more points, Magic more dimes and Rings.

But, they are pretty close as far as accolades go.

I have LeBron 3rd.

But, it's not unreasonable to have him 4 or 5.

Out of the top 5 and you're on crack.

Yep. His all around legacy will probably boil down to his Finals record. Although I think he's w/o a doubt 1 of the 5 best of all time. Some will hold his Finals record against him. If you do that then Wilt's career was a failure. I think he was 2-4 in the Finals? Oh yeah & change the damn league logo. That loser was something like 1-8!

I just can't pass the opportunity up to take a shot @ the Lakers.:heh:

There's no way to know that.

So, we can only go by what is.

Magic has more rings, averaged more dimes and shot better from the charity stripe.

Lebron scores more, averaged a miniscule amount more in boards and has more MVP's.

But, he made 6 All Defensive 1st Teams to Magic's zip....

That's the thing that makes me lean LeBron.

This is what makes arguing and debating the top 5 even more fun - there's no definitive answer.

Some people have LeBron as the GOAT, some #2, most at #4 or 5.

But to get shitty because someone doesn't definitively have him in the top 2 is just pathetic

Exactly where do you have LeBron ranked?

Yeah, you are entitled to your opinion.....and it's way more fun this way.

Even though it's contrary to mine, you and @Wamu make some good points.

We all value different things and it's very possible that I suffer from recency bias.

But, I don't think that's the case here because I love Magic and I don't care one way or another about LeBron.
