Just one bad game? This thing has been looking like a slow moving train wreck for the past couple seasons...

Winning a Super Bowl buys you a lotta years in this league

He should take a lotta heat tho for a team that was thoroughly unprepared to play yesterday

Who would be stupid enough to fire the first one?

San_Francisco_49ers_logo.svg

Oh, yeah. Same organization that thought Kaepernick would be any good w/out Harbaugh.

Harbaugh's proven he can win in this league. The Ravens had a ton of players leave after the SB so seeing them struggle the past few years shouldn't be a surprise. It doesn't help that a lot of top picks in the draft the past 5 years haven't panned out in Balt. which is what they rely on to keep them in contention. And the freaking injuries? They've been the most injured team in the league for a few years now (not that I'm making it an excuse but surely doesn't help).

He hasn't lost the team, which is always a clear sign to get rid of a coach. I will say if the Ravens go 6-10 or along those lines, he's gotta be on the hot seat next year.

Unless you're Marvin Lewis :heh:

He did win one with the Ravens in 2000, but that doesn't count.

John Harbs is a good coach. He owns up to the team & takes responsibility for everything. Something a true leader should always do. For that reason he will never lose his team. Most of their problems are due to drafting. The only way they toss John aside is if ownership applies the pressure. Doubt that will happen anytime soon.

No.

The FO decided to gut the team right after they won their last SB...I think doing that bought Harbaugh 5 or 6 yrs. Rebuilding it has been much tougher than expected probably...now that 2012 is 5 yrs removed I can imagine the natives are starting to get a little restless.

If they miss the playoffs again this season...I think there will be a lot more pressure on Harbs in '18.

Another case of paying that SB winning QB has trickled down to the rest of the roster?

IIIII guess you can say that...they let a lot of higher priced talent go. Not all were due to money though...age, performance was a factor with Ray Lewis, and Antwan Boldin. Ngata imo was a salary cap casualty, but they had a young stud coming up the ranks.

I think more than anything, they have transitioned to rookie contract players in many of those key roles and they just haven't gotten the results. They continue the stopgap route at WR because the draft hasn't really worked.

yeah, they have really struck out with the WR position.....The Pitta injury was a blow, he could have really been a great pass catching TE for a long time......Just such a lack of offensive playmakers...The Maclin thing is also bound to fail, he's as fragile as they come

For years the Ravens were always stout in the trenches...I think they are having some OL growing pains now which makes weapons look less productive too. Pitta has definitely left a lot of football on the field due to injury. I think he's done for good this time with another hip. IMO Maclin and Wallace are the same guy...one of them has to do the dirty work inside and neither are wired for that.
