I really think you guys need to watch the game again because I seen WRs open. Kap is locking on receivers and not making good pre-snap reads. Even if we had Calvin Johnson and AJ Green on the other side, we still need better coaching.

I doubt there was many plays, if any, where WRs were actually open. We'd have to watch the coaches tape, but from everything I've seen/read/heard the WRs struggled heavily today to get open.

Not to excuse Kaepernick because he wasn't sharp, but when pass-blocking is weak, the WRs aren't getting open, a young QB WILL struggle. There's no way around it.

I don't buy that easy answer for a second.

The Niners' offense is not the same without Crabtree & Vernon on offense, and Kaepernick has not handled success well. That isn't Mangini's fault.

I figured it was all because they didn't call a 15 yard penalty on Cary Williams.

(obvious troll attempt)

Seriously, what's this weeks excuse?

Lack of defensive impact? Sure D played well considering pts til the 4th, but no sacks(again), no muscle in the middle(where's Marecic Harbaugh/Baalke?), terrible secondary outside of Reid AGAIN, how could they blitz on a 3 WR set and leave the slot open for 5-7 yards everytime?

Or how about Kap? WTF dude? where is your mind? is it some hoochie or GQ magazine? holy crap, Geno Smith is outplaying you as of late... Geno... !!!!! Maybe they need to bring a real vet QB to get Kap's mind sharp and back into the playbook, he's really not committed as of late, bad passes, bad reads, late reads, late decisions... too hesistant to break out n run?... what happened?

Run the ball means good, so Roman or Harb or Kap stay away from running? Gore should really curse them out... Hunter too, those two fancy plays weren't for him....

what is happening?

no excuses, we just sucked. need to get back to what worked, take the pressure off of kap and use our strength.

Just getting back to running the football and all will be well with the 49ers offense is a myth. Yes being creative with the running attack like the 1st half and carrying it right through the entire game is sorely needed yes...

But eventually WR's gotta make plays you can't hand the ball off every play and expect to win games that game plan will get shut down real fast. Unlike TV viewers game commentators Simms and Nance see the entire field the big picture and they were constantly pointing out throughout the game the 49ers receivers were not getting open. You gotta have a balanced attack.

Our Super Bowl teams were exactly that we could both pound the football with Craig & Rathman and also open up the passing attack with stud wideouts like Rice and Taylor. Baalke Harbaugh & Roman do not have a balanced offensive attack that opposing teams fear we don't have the WR's to scare the better teams.

we had the same issues a couple seasons ago and the run game carried the offense. we can lean on it again while we wait for the injured players to get back.

They illustrated it last night on Sunday night football. He DID have open recievers but never looked at them. The only way they are going to get better is if they are real with themselves and honestly address the issues. Denying that Kaep is locking on receivers won't help them and it won't help you. He's not the only problem but he is a problem. His inexperience (I hope that's all it is) is showing.

We absolutely need to get back to power football. Run the ball and stop living off last years success running the pistol. It isn't working.

How far did the 2012 team go when the Giants shut down our WR's? Williams muffed punts was the icing on the cake.

You gotta have a balanced attack with wideouts on the edges who can make plays.

I agree get back to the power running game. All this passing makes no sense. Go back to last years offense.

The failure of our first round draft pick WR (AJ) is really hurting.

what is happening?

Lack of talent and poor preparation by the coaching staff.

didn't read this thread yet, but can imagine EVERY single part of the team has been mentioned? IMO it is a lot on mental and emotional things, that losing SB teams go thru. yes, there are exceptions but history has shown more naught.

his season is far from over and not accepting 'history' now. but this two game 'rut' is rooted in that. we all expected a tough start too, so not surprising everything is struggling.

unfortunately, this team now has to travel.
