Sure, that's fair. I guess my point was I'd rather have an elite O-line & average QB than an average line & elite QB.

Yeah it's tough.. I'd call McCown this year average with an elite line. ATL def has the line, but I'd call their QB having an average year but above average overall. Buff and Oakland yeah. I'd consider them top 8 offensive lines with middle of the pack QB play.

All time elite, like all pro's at every position, sure, that's 5 guys you have to replace, and while you can hit FA I think more with an O-line than a QB, I'd go with that. But Wilson/Brady/Rodgers and a weak line. I'll go there over a really good line and mediocre QB.

The RB is after the QB unless it's an empty backfield. The C is before both of them..

This is football 101.

@ElTexan RB? Why? Have you been paying attention to the evolution of football?
Yes. before i even voted, I knew every wanna-be-expert here was going to say "Left tackle."
But the WAR on a left tackle is nowhere close to the WAR on a great RB.

Running back is the least important position of the entire starting 22. Not even debatable anymore.

I'd contend an elite RB can still modify the passing game into greater levels of efficiencies- moreso than a single OL can. The issue here is supply, not demand.

I take Tyron Smith over Todd Gurley 100 out of 100 times. Not even a 2nd thought.

@ElTexan Please expound and tell us why the least important position of the starting 22 is actually important. CJ Anderson just had 90 yards and a TD in the SB against a great defense. Tell me. Who the fuck is CJ Anderson? Some undrafted bum.

You're fielding a team. You are offered the best Right Guard in the NFL or the best Running Back in the NFL. Which are you going to take, dunce?

Guard. The best guard in the league can dominate and open up lanes that an average back can run through. There's a reason O line makes more money than RBs do. It's because they are worth more.

People who think MLB is the 2nd most important position don't know football. About 5 MLB have gone in the top 10 picks in the last 20 years. It's ALWAYS been...

QB, LT, DE/OLB, CB in that order.

And Guards are down there with TE and RB.

Why is kicker not an option? Seems like Pats fans would be all choosing that.

in before "or placeholder for Dallas fans".

No. Guards NEVER go in the top 10. Never. They make about 1/4 of what a LT makes.

"I'll take teams that cut their pro-bowl guard and saw a downturn in their ability to run the ball despite signing the prior years leading rusher for $1000, Alex".

2nd most important position is MLB. I don't care where they are drafted, they are the brains of the defense as many others have said. They are more often than not the signal caller on defense and that is key.

5 people voted Center? Jesus. I can think of one Center drafted in the first round in the last decade and he went in the late 20s. If that was the 2nd most important position Centers would be the first pick in the draft and I doubt there's been a Center drafted in the top 20 in the last 1/4 century.
