Smith was the same thing.

It was either pay Smith or get somebody on a vet min. And Smith was an FA re year after they won. It was literally a no brainer.

Smith had just hit 2 of the biggest three's in franchise history. Coming out of halftime in Game 7 the Warriors were up and looked like they were gonna extend it out and Smith hit 2 HUMONGOUS 3's when the offense was stagnating.

the mistake was the years in both--- they shouldve limited Smith and Thompson so they didnt get such long deals....easier said then done but its what i would have tried to do - have them both expiring this year or something.

Hill and Smith are gone after this year....after that the only contracts the Cavs really have are Korver- which is emmintently movable at about 7M, Clarkson at 1 year 13M which shouldnt be impossible to move, and then of course Thompson at 1 year 18M which wont be easy to move.

They won't trade all because there is a number teams HAVE to spend or they get panalized. 3 teams did last seasom I think

I think after all has been said and done that I can say this---

If the Lakers get either Leonard, George, or Cp3 to go to LA- LeBron will also go.

If the Lakers cannot get any of those 3 guys, I think LeBron likely stays in Cleveland.
