I will bet you my left testicle that if CP3 signs in Houston and George signs in OKC that LeBron will not be IN LA unless a Kawhi trade is made. He is NOT going there alone.

lol....i dunno what do you have to offer? an inch of your dick? (i wouldnt want you to lose 50% of it)

CP3, George, Kawhi---- if one does not join LeBron in LA there is no possible way he is going there.

in a way its a kind of chicken vs. the egg thing--- i am sure if LeBron committed there he could get one of CP3 or George or Kawhi there....i would think.

If he went to the Lakers and said- ill sign if you do what you have to do to get Kawhi- i think the lakers would assent

If the Cavs somehow acquired Kawhi and Kemba whod they be the favorites to win it all?

I think they would be. Not that its likely or realistic--- but there have been less realistic things thrown out on this board lately.

There is no possible way they get either, much less both. Might as well ask if the Magic trade for the Warriors' big 4, would they be the favorites?

I'm inclined to agree.

However, here is a different scenario.

When Lebron changed teams previously, he was younger and still chasing his legacy.

Now, he's 33 years old and a lot closer to the end of his career than the beginning. He has pretty much accomplished everything he dreamed of. He has rings, he brought a title to Cleveland and he is, at the very least, a huge part of the GOAT convo.

For his entire 15 year career, it has been about what he wants and what is best for his career/legacy. Maybe now it's about what his family wants?

If it's about what his family wants more than what he wants, I think that likely makes it purely between the Cavs and the Lakers.

I think we can all agree that, wherever he ends up, that team is unlikely to simply stand pat. They are going to try to put a contending roster around him.

So, if the report a while back that his wife is tired of uprooting the kids and wants to stay in Cleveland is true, then he I think he stays with the Cavs, knowing they are going to do whatever they can to put a contender around him. They don't have cap space, but they do have tradeable assets.

If the report that his family loves being in LA are true. Then maybe he comes to the Lakers alone, knowing that the Lakers will do everything they can to put a contender around him and have both the assets and cap space to do that.

I think the Browns have a better chance of going 11-5 than Kawhi & Kemba ending up in a Cavs uniform next year.

How are they taking on the salary that will be required as part of the deal?

Do you honestly think Kemba will stay in Cleveland after Lebron leaves?

the point would be playing with Kevin Love and Kemba Walker is INFINITELY better than anything the Lakers can offer if George resigns in OKC as rumored, Paul resigns in Houston as rumored, and the Spurs make good on their intention of not trading Kawhi anywhere in the West as rumored.

You're relying an AWFUL lot on rumors. Why would anyone say anything other than for leverage and/or misdirection at this time?

Paul isn't going anywhere, as nobody else will give him his max IMO. George is still very much obtainable if he thinks about the state of that OKC team. They have no first rounder, no cap space, and Melo will definitely opt in. That team can only get worse. Spurs won't go out of their way to help the Lakers, but I don't think they'll have much of a choice unless the Lakers lowball them too much. If Kawhi wants the Lakers, nobody will risk the big trade offer for a one year rental. The Pacers got lucky last year with Olidipo's value being clouded by Westbrook's usage rate in OKC, otherwise that might be the kind of trade offer the Spurs can expect; a couple decent players and a pick. The clouded nature of Kawhi's health doesn't help the Spurs either (unless it's a lot worse than we assume).

hey i totally agree to a certain extent.

George can go both ways and is basically where most of the Lakers eggs should be.

I have ZERO reservation to telling you that Kawhi to the Lakers is a pipe dream.

CP3 is staying in Houston.

Likely what happens with LeBron hinges quite a bit on Paul George. If George goes to LA, I can see LeBron going there. If he doesnt- I cant see LeBron going there considering CP3 is likely to stayin Houston and that a number of other teams can put together better offers for Kawhi, there is not even any confirmation that the Spurs just wont keep Kawhi, and the fact that IF they do trade him, it will likely NOT be to the West.

If Paul George wants the money and stays in OKC I think the LeBron to LAL dreams dies the 2nd PG would sign an extension. To put the odds- i think its close to 50/50.

and to act like you are not relying on rumors with the Lakers bright side of the road acquisitions is rather hypocritical. YES PG very well might go there and bring LBJ with him- but he might not.

We shall see.

I have it 50/50 Lakers/Cavs for Bron right now.

If the Cavs can somehow swing a couple deals in the next couple days I think it starts to lean more towards the Cavs- but it might be hard for them to do so- and trading #8 for KEmba without an assurance from Bron is BIG TIME risky.

Also, you can't get Kemba for just the #8 pick, as the Cavs are capped out. The Hornets want to CUT salary in a Kemba trade, and the Cavs have no expiring contracts of value. Tristan and JR don't have a lot guaranteed beyond this season, so if the Hornets can't find another trade partner, maybe they consider those two. Even with the #8 pick included, I don't think that's enough coming back to the Hornets.

If you would like to make a bet about Leonard being in a Lakers uniform I am more than willing to go against that. Ill put up 2k in SportsHoopla cash against your 1k.

It's far from a pipe dream. It may have to wait until he's a free agent next summer, but it's a real possibility. Getting full value for him will be very difficult unless he widens his choice of teams that he will re-sign with next summer. Otherwise, the Spurs will be getting a lot of lukewarm offers. If the best offer is in the west (or from the Lakers), the Spurs need to do what is best for THEIR team and not worry about other franchises, especially given Kawhi's option next summer.

I don't wager here, and if I did, you would be my LAST choice. How often have you disappeared or failed to carry through on a bet, lol?
