Got to believe the poor play the two previous games is having a negative effect on the team as a whole.
Beas in interview seemed dejected to meGot to believe the poor play the two previous games is having a negative effect on the team as a whole.
Ideally, I would like to find a guy who can start close to 120 or so, and who has a good bat. Sixty games is just a lot to have a weak bat in the lineup. At some point we may have to trade for a catcher or sign a free agent.I think about 100 starts a year 62 for the second catcher. Lessen the back to back starts some
Is why we need to see if Huff sinks or swimsIdeally, I would like to find a guy who can start close to 120 or so, and who has a good bat. Sixty games is just a lot to have a weak bat in the lineup. At some point we may have to trade for a catcher or sign a free agent.
Why? When it comes to signing him, his competition will be the other free agents we can sign and who we can trade for, not who we already have.the way the others are not proving reliable helps Perez bargaining position
I think that playing field evens out once season ends but now it is harder to get the hometown discount for Perez. I would rather get him signed sooner but that may not be how it goesWhy? Guys like Arihara, Keuchel, and Mr. Bullpen will not even be in the picture at that point anyway.
We may only sign one starter and we could look at someone with a better track record than Martin. It is hard to know what they are thinking in that regard.
The only way to do that is to do the same thing they did a few months ago when they had Heim and Trevino. If they want to see what Huff can do over a full season they are going to have to commit to that the same way they did with Heim when they traded Trevino. I don't know that they would choose Huff over Heim.Is why we need to see if Huff sinks or swims
I don't think they want to sign him right now anyway. I think they will let the season play out and then decide.I think that playing field evens once season ends but now it is harder to get the hometown discount
I don't see that happening. The only way to do that is to do the same thing they did a few months ago when they had Heim and Trevino. If they want to see what Huff can do over a full season they are going to have to commit to that the same way they did with Heim when they traded Trevino.
Me neither. That is why I think we will eventually have to go outside of the system to find a catcher. I think they are going to let two better catchers go in order to keep Heim. One is already gone and most likely Huff will be gone in a few months.I don't see that happening.
Trevino it seems gets a lot less starts in NY so they likely cherry pick his starts. We have a defense first Garcia in the minors so I doubt we are shopping catchers. Besides the hope is Garver will be catching as wellMe neither. That is why I think we will eventually have to go outside of the system to find a catcher. I just think the fact that they felt they needed to trade Trevino makes it seem that Huff will be next and soon. Huff has more trade value than Trevino did, I would think. We have 28 games left after this so it will be interesting to see who gets the catcher starts
I don’t think we are trading Huff aggressively
But Viloria I bet won’t be here next year. Not always bad to go the slow route for catchers
Their favoring Garver so much is all the more reason they can trade Huff.the hope is Garver will be catching as well
