From Evan Grant:

Heim hit just .141 in August. It ranked last among the 101 AL players with at least 80 plate appearances during the month. His .548 OPS featured inverted numbers with an OBP (.274) higher than his slugging percentage (.268).

They wore him out. I mentioned this on earlier post

Now is the perfect time to sit Heim on the IL for fatigue and bring up Huff to be the primary catcher getting the bulk of the starts for the next ten days if they are so high on him

Mike, as a pitching coach for us.
I wouldn't mind having Greg being available for the younger pitchers to talk to encourage them to be more opened minded about different tactics/pitches to take with hitters. (Teen and Moore are way more effective now just since they made 1-2 minor changes to their repertoire)...

His way of thinking/pitching probably wouldn't work for every pitcher but just him being around might give some of the less talented pitchers more confidence and positive mindset. :noidea:

I’m thinking the Rangers will have about $40-$50 million AAV to play with this off-season?
Who would y’all sign?

I knew it was pretty bad but didn't realize it was that awful. Hasn't homered since the week before the AS break, I dont think

Do you think the Dodger pitching coaches have anything to do with this?

Andrew Heaney career ERA 4.55

This year: ERA 2.12, 46.2 innings/70k’s

Whip 1.05

Tyler Anderson career ERA 4.25

This year: ERA 2.68, W-L 13-3, Whip 1.02
It also could be they are just having career years, being on a winning team helps or they just figured something out like Martin Perez and Matt Moore but I’m leaning towards the Dodger pitching coaching being top notch and having a major influence in their turn arounds.

Beas Says it is not but it is.

Really doubt he is mgr next season
Rangers need a fresh start and it is not feeling like it regardless of his performance

If that's it then you either got to sign Pérez and a few high quality relievers and trade for another TORP, or sign Pérez and Rodón, and get bullpen help via multiple trades.

I always thought that them and Rays pitching coaches do a really good job.

I wonder if the Rangers are looking to sign a top free agent pitcher and a short term guy this offseason.

Kyle Gibson might take a short term deal. I guess they could sign Perez and Gibson to 2 year deals, maybe with an option for another year.

That is, if they aren't going after hitting. Some were mentioning a shorter term guy for 1B while moving Lowe to DH. If so, then maybe Abreu.
neither would sign that kind of deal. just more low-balling

every projected AAV i see for Rodon is around 29-32M which would eat up most of what some are predicting the Rangers have available. personally, i would think we re-sign Perez and then sign someone like Syndergaard and then sign a closer and a couple of quality relievers

he is wearing down; he has played nearly double the games he has ever played
