Agree . He looks like a utility player but I hope he gets most of the starts the rest of the yearWhile I am a fan of Smith I just am not able to commit to him being a regular starter.
I bet they get it done. This guys usually gets it right and also Pads like to flip flop players. Siri could be available in a couple years when we could use him

They are closer to the window. Getting Soto make more sense for themthe Dads are the second WC at the moment, and haven't had Tatis Jr this year.
Because it was his non-throwing shoulder anyway. Not sure the big surprise here. It was also an arthroscopic surgery if I remember both right which would make it a little less invasive. It was however a torn labrum which is significant but if he has no problems swinging a bat now, I don’t see a whole issue with throwing with the opposite arm.The club’s initial plan post-surgery was that he might get back to DH-ing before the end of the year, but third base was not a major consideration. That has changed. Jung has made “a lot” of throws across the diamond already.
Now if the Rangers only can.
I am glad people are finally figuring this out.
When Preller signed Machado I thought what is he doing. Their team stinks. But in a short time frame he had made the Padres into a solid team. Always wondered if he should have been our GM.
